Serie A Predictions – Round 24

Juventus-Spezia: the Bianconeri partly slipped again versus Verona as they were held to a tie, failing to win for the second of the last three games. The Aquilotti came back from Parma after losing big to Fiorentina the previous game. They recently played Milan off the park, but at home. The Old Lady has won five in a row at the Stadium, so they have an edge despite the ever-underwhelming form: 2-0.

Sassuolo-Napoli: the Neroverdi have not been impressive in some time as they have prevailed just once over the past seven fixtures, versus Crotone, picking up three draws with Parma, Cagliari, Bologna. They got to rest over the weekend. The Partenopei continue to alternate home wins to road losses as they topped Benevento Sunday, while they have came a cropper with Verona, Genoa and Atalanta in the past three away tilts: 1-1.

Atalanta-Crotone: the Bergamaschi have built back him some momentum with three Ws in a row versus Cagliari, Napoli and Sampdoria, looking mighty good in some stretches. The Squali decided their coach after the six straight loss, but they would need a massive boost from such move to come away with points in this one: 4-0.

Benevento-Verona: the Sanniti were bested by Napoli last week, losing after three consecutive draws Sampdoria, Bologna and Roma. The Scaligeri are coming off two ties with Genoa and Juventus and they could have easily prevailed in both. However, they have not been particularly effective away, while the Giallorossi have showed their best stuff on their own turf: 1-1.

Cagliari-Bologna: the Sardinians exploited the easy match-up with Crotone to notch their first victory since early November on Leonardo Semplici’s debut. They will be facing a more challenging opponent in this one as the Felsinei have not lost in four matches, sinking Lazio and Parma and sharing the spoils with Benevento and Sassuolo: 2-2.

Fiorentina-Roma: the Viola could build on a great win over Spezia and were handed by their third loss in the past four rounds, although only one of those, at the hands of Inter, has come at home, where they have mostly been solid. The Giallorossi slipped up again versus a big team, Milan in this case, failing to win for the second match in a row after a nil-nil tie in Benevento. They have not been great away, but they are in dire need to bounce back if they want to keep up with the other Champions League contenders: 0-1.

Genoa-Sampdoria: the Grifone’s positive streak come to an end against Inter as they decided to with a reserve-filled lineup. They had not lost in seven matches. The Blucerchiati, who did the same over the weekend, dropped two in a row to Lazio at Atalanta, ruining a positive stretch. The Rossoblù have had the upper-hand in recent years in the Derby della Lanterna, but it feels like Claudio Ranieri’s squad has higher ceiling. 2-2.

Milan-Udinese: the Rossoneri returned to winnings way in the clash with Roma, shaking off the two bad losses against Spezia and Inter. The Friulani won it at the buzzer versus Fiorentina and have been resilient lately, losing just once in the past seven matches, to Roma away, but the Devil could recapture their previous form: 2-0.

Parma-Inter: two consecutive two-two draws for Parma, against Udinese and Spezia, where they could hold to the double lead. They are faring better, but they have not prevailed since late November and their position in the standings is bleak. Inter instead are humming as they added Genoa to their list of victims and have rattled off a five-game winnings streak, seizing control of the top of the table: 0-3.
