Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 27

Atalanta: the thigh problem picked up by Duvan Zapata is not severe and he has been called up, but he might be spared anyway. Sam Lammers has recovered from his shoulder injury, so only Bosko Sutalo (ankle) and Hans Hateboer (foot) are on the shelf.

Benevento: Bryan Dabo is suspended. Fabio Depaoli suffered a calf strain and will miss a couple more weeks, similar timetable for Gaetano Letizia (thigh), while it is not known what kind of problem Iago Falque is dealing with.

Bologna: Takehiro Tomiyasu (calf), Aaron Hickey (shoulder) and Mitchell Dijks (thigh) are all good to go after missing time.  Paolo Faragò continues to be MIA. Adama Soumaoro is banged up but available.

Returning: Tomiyasu, Hickey, Dijks

Missing: Faragò, Santander. 

Cagliari: Charalampos Lykogiannis and Leonardo Pavoletti are out due to yellow-card accumulation. Riccardo Sottil will not be able to return. Sebastian Walukiewicz and Matteo Tramoni are out with fatigue.

Missing: Lykogiannis, Pavoletti, Sottil, Walukiewicz, Tramoni. 

Crotone: Ahmad Benali is poised to return after a thigh issue, while Luca Cigarini will continue to miss time with knee soreness. Milos Vulic missed some time with an ankle sprain, but he has been called up for this one. Luca Marrone is out due to a sore MCL. 

Fiorentina: Sofyan Amrabat is nursing some back pain. Christian Kouame and Gaetano Castrovilli have finished their rehab from thigh strains. Igor Kokorin is instead out of commission with the same problem. Igor will be back only for the final stretch.

Genoa: Mattia Destro and Andrea Masiello are suspended. Davide Biraschi is inching closer to a full recovery after a long time on the mend due to a shoulder injury. Mattia Perin and Goran Pandev (back) are likely to feature after sitting out the previous game.

Inter: Arturo Vidal will miss a month as he will undergo surgery to remove a torn meniscus. Aleksandar Kolarov is fatigued. Christian Eriksen is questionable with a sore knee.

Juventus: Rodrigo Bentancur is in the COVID protocol, while Paulo Dybala will miss the next two matches with a MCL sprain. Giorgio Chiellini and Matthijs De Ligt were good to go versus Porto. Merih Demiral will miss three weeks with a thigh strain, similar timetable and injury for Aaron Ramsey. Gianluigi Buffon is nursing some back pain.

Missing: Bentancur, Dybala, Ramsey, Demiral, Buffon. 

Lazio: Stefan Radu has finished off his rehab from sports hernia surgery. Manuel Lazzari (calf) and Luiz Felipe (ankle) will miss more time.

Milan: Theo Hernandez is expected back as he shook off a fibula contusion but missed the midweek Europa League game due to a stomach bug. Ante Rebic (hip) and Hakan Calhanoglu have good chances, while Mario Mandzukic, Ismael Bennacer (thigh) and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have been ruled out. Davide Calabria (groin) and Alessio Romagnoli (foot) have been ruled out.

Returning: Hernandez, Calhanoglu, Rebic

Missing: Bennacer, Ibrahimovic, Mandzukic, Romagnoli, Calabria. 

Napoli: Faouzi Ghoulam tore the ACL in the let knee and he is out for the season. Andrea Petagna and Hirving Lozano are ramping up their activity in practice after thigh problems, but they have not been called up. Kostas Manolas is out with a minor problem, while Amir Rrahmani will miss the next two with a thigh pull.

Missing: Manolas, Lozano, Petagna, Rrahmani, Ghoulam. 

Parma: Juraj Kucka is suspended. Joshua Zirzkee (back) and Andrea Conti (thigh) have resumed working with the rest of the team after some time off. Mattia Bani and Hernani are probable after small ailments. Andreas Cornelius (thigh) will be a late call. Roberto Inglese is rehabbing an unstable ankle, while Simone Iacoponi is suffering from knee osteochondrosis . Riccardo Gagliolo is out with an adductor pull. Gervinho is a late scratch with a thigh problem.

Returning: Conti, Zirzkee

Missing: Kucka, Cornelius, Gervinho, Gagliolo, Iacoponi, Inglese, Nicolussi Caviglia, Valenti. 

Roma: Roger Ibanez and Edin Dzeko have been called up for the midweek Europa League game after thigh strains. Juan Jesus tested positive for COVID while he was away from the team. Jordan Veretout is on the shelf with a strain. Henrick Mkhitaryan suffered a calf problem Thursday, Chris Smalling is dealing with a thigh one and they both will be spared this week.

Returning: Dzeko, Ibanez, Calafiori.

Missing: Mkhitaryan, Smalling, Jesus, Veretout, Zaniolo. 

Sampdoria: Omar Colley is suspended. Ernesto Torregrossa is nursing a calf strain, Karlo Letica contracted COVID. Tommaso Augello has some minor abdominal problems.

Missing: Colley, Torregrossa, Letica, Rocha. 

Sassuolo: Vlad Chiriches and Jeremie Boga are expected to be back from their thigh problems. Mehdi Bourabia might instead stay out.

Spezia: Federico Mattiello (thigh) and Riccardo Saponara (foot) remain shelved. Ivan Provedel contracted Coronavirus, plus they announced another unnamed case. Rafael has recovered form an elbow injury.

Torino: Tomas Rincon is disqualified. The COVID outbreak is subsiding as Bremer, Karol Linetty, Wilfried Singo and Andrea Belotti turned negative, leaving only Nicolas Nkoulou in the protocol. Singo returned too late to be called up though.

Returning: Belotti, Linetty, Bremer.

Missing: Singo, Nkoulou. 

Udinese: Samir is nursing a thigh strain. Kevin Bonifazi, Stefano Okaka, Thomas Ouwejan and Gerard Deulofeu are not 100 percent. Only the first two will be called up. Ignacio Pussetto and Mato Jajalo are likely done for the year with ACL tears.

Verona: Kevin Ruegg remains iffy with an ankle sprain. Nikola Kalinic (thigh), Marco Benassi (calf), Ebrima Colley (knee) and Rolando Vieira (thigh) are out with muscular injuries.
