Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 30

Atalanta: Matteo Pessina contracted COVID. Luis Muriel is dealing with some minor back issues but should be fine. Hans Hateboer is rehabbing after foot surgery.

Missing: Pessina, Hateboer. 

Benevento: Gaetano Letizia and Iago Falque returned last week, so they do not have any absentees.

Bologna: Lukas Skorupski has shaken off Coronavirus. Takehiro Tomiyasu is nursing some muscle fatigue, while Ibrahima Mbaye is past the same problem. Gary Medel will miss a month with another calf strain. Federico Santander (ACL tear) and Aaron Hickey (shoulder surgery) are out for the year.

Returning: Skorupski, Mbaye; Missing: Tomiyasu, Medel, Santander, Hickey. 

Cagliari: Nahitan Nandez is okay despite dealing with a bruised thigh. Alessio Cragno tested positive for COVID. Alessandro Tripaldelli is expected back after some muscle fatigue, while Luca Ceppitelli and Alessandro Tramoni might stay on the shelf, like Riccardo Sottil (thigh strain). Alessandro Deiola is out for the birth of his child.

Returning: Tripaldelli; Missing: Cragno, Ceppitelli, Tramoni, Sottil, Deiola. 

Crotone: Pedro Pereira is suspended, Arkadiusz Reca will be back after being isolated as a precaution.

Returning: Reca, Missing: Pereira. 

Fiorentina: Franck Ribery and Erick Pulgar are suspended. Kevin Malcuit is likely to be available after skipping one with an ailment. Aleksandr Kokorin is iffy with a thigh strain and Igor will miss some more time with the same, but more severe, injury.

Genoa: Kevin Strootman is banned. Luca Pellegrini is out with a thigh strain. Lennart Czyborra sprained his knee in practice and will not be available. The players that were spared last week after international duties are set to return.

Returning: Pandev, Onguene, Portanova, Zima; Missing: Pellegrini, Strootman, Czyborra. 

Inter: Nicolò Barella is missing due to yellow-card accumulation. Danilo D’Ambrosio should be back post-COVID, while Ivan Perisic and Aleksandar Kolarov are slated to miss another one with fatigue.

Juventus: Leonardo Bonucci and Federico Bernardeschi are going through the Coronavirus protocol, while Merih Demiral cleared it but is not 100 percent. Paulo Dybala, Arthur, and Weston McKennie returned midweek.

Lazio: Joaquin Correa and Manuel Lazzari are disqualified. Patric has shaken off some back pain. Luis Alberto has not fully healed from his ankle sprain, but he will be ready to go.

Milan: Rafael Leao and Mario Mandzukic are expected to return from their thigh strains, Brahim Diaz from his foot/ankle issue, while Alessio Romagnoli (calf) will stay shelved. Davide Calabria is recuperating after meniscus surgery.

Returning: Mandzukic, Diaz, Leao; Missing: Romagnoli, Calabria, Maldini. 

Napoli: Diego Demme played versus Juventus, so the only injured player is Faouzi Ghoulam (ACL tear).

Missing: Ghoulam. 

Parma: Lautaro Valenti is set to return after a calf strain, but Yann Karamoh, Simon Sohm and Roberto Inglese remain out because of ankle issues and Valentin Mihaila (thigh) and Yordan Osorio (calf) suffered small muscular problems. The former is unavailable, the latter will be a late call. Wylan Cyprien will miss time with a thigh strain, Juan Francisco Brunetta with thigh tendinopathy. Joshua Zirkzee will not undergo surgery but will wear a cast for six weeks for his LCL sprain.

Returning: Valenti; Missing: Karamoh, Sohm, Inglese, Cyprien, Brunetta, Zirzkee, Nicolussi Caviglia. 

Roma: Bryan Cristante is disqualified. Henrikh Mkhitaryan (calf strain) is fit enough to be called up, while Chris Smalling is still out. Leonardo Spinazzola picked up a thigh problem that will have to be assessed in Europa League. Stephan El Shaarawy is out with a thigh strain. Juan Jesus has returned after COVID.

Returning: Mkhitaryan, Jesus; Missing: Cristante, Smalling, Spinazzola, El Shaarawy.

Sampdoria: Adrien Silva is suspended, Ernesto Torregrossa (calf soreness) and Albin Ekdal (thigh pull) are unlikely to be available. Maya Yoshida picked up an ankle problem in practice and will be a late call.

Missing: Silva, Torregrossa, Ekdal.

Sassuolo: Manuel Locatelli, Mert Muldur and Gian Marco Ferrari will make their return. Hamed Traore is banned. Francesco Caputo (back pain) remains on the shelf, while Domenico Berardi (thigh pull), Mehdi Bourabia (thigh strain) and Gregoire Defrel (thigh pull) have some chances. Kaan Ayhan has COVID.

Spezia: Nahuel Estevez will be given more time to work on his form. Also, Riccardo Saponara (foot sprain), Federico Mattiello (thigh strain), Cristiano Dell’Orco (thigh muscle fatigue) and Juan Ramos (COVID) will skip another one.

Missing: Estevez, Saponara, Mattiello, Dell’Orco, Ramos, Krapikas. 

Torino: Wilfried Singo (thigh pull) and Lyanco (severe back pain) seem poised to remain on the mend, but they are not totally out yet. Salvatore Sirigu has contracted Coronavirus.

Missing: Singo, Lyanco. 

Udinese: Bram Nuytinck pulled a thigh muscle in practice and is at serious risk of missing the upcoming game. Gerard Deulofeu is having a tough time shaking off some knee soreness. Ignacio Pussetto (ACL tear) will not return this season.

Missing: Deulofeu, Pussetto, Prodl, Jajalo. 

Verona: Matteo Lovato is suspended. Koray Gunter (calf issue) and Nikola Kalinic (thigh strain) will be called up. Andrea Favilli, Rolando Vieira (thigh) and Marco Benassi will keep nursing muscular issues.
