Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 33

Atalanta: Robin Gosens was red-carded Thursday. Hans Hateboer has an outside shot of coming back from his foot injury.

Benevento: Daam Foulon and Gabriele Moncini (ankle soreness) missed the last two games. Alessandro Tuia picked up a calf problem in the last game and is being assessed, Gaetano Letizia is fatigued.

Bologna: Takehiro Tomiyasu will probably sit out another one with a calf issue. Nicolas Dominguez sustained a potentially severe knee injury midweek and is undergoing tests.

Cagliari: Radja Nainggolan is suspended. Riccardo Sottil and Matteo Tramoni were unavailable due to thigh problems midweek, Alessio Cragno because of COVID.

Crotone: Luca Marrone will remain sidelined because of a calf pull, while Ahmad Benali has recovered from an ankle sprain. Samuel Di Carmine did not make the squad list. Adam Ounas was a late scratch for the past game but has been called up.

Returning: Benali; Missing: Marrone, Di Carmine.

Fiorentina: Giacomo Bonaventura is banned. Borja Valero and Aleksandar Kokorin are dealing with thigh issues.

Genoa: Ivan Radovanovic is out because of yellow-card accumulation, Luca Pellegrini because of a thigh strain.

Inter: Arturo Vidal (knee soreness) and Aleksandar Kolarov (muscle fatigue) are questionable.

Juventus: Federico Chiesa has not totally been ruled out yet, but he will probably skip another one due to a thigh pull, while Merih Demiral is trying to shake off some fatigue.

Lazio: Gonzalo Escalante sat out the midweek bout with an undisclosed injury.

Milan: Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Theo Hernandez are recovering from fatigue, Ismael Bennacer from an ankle problem, and they are poised to be late calls.

Napoli: Kostas Manolas is suspended. David Ospina will probably remain out with a thigh pull.

Parma: Andrea Conti will return from his calf contracture, while Juraj Kucka (thigh strain) and Riccardo Gagliolo (calf strain) will try to be available for the following tilt. Roberto Inglese has undergone ankle surgery and will work towards being ready for the start of the 2021/22 season.

Returning: Conti. Missing: Kucka, Alves, Inglese, Zirkzee, Nicolussi Caviglia, Cyprien. 

Roma: Roger Ibanez was sent off Thursday. Leonardo Spinazzola (quad pull), Stephan El Shaarawy (thigh strain), Chris Smalling (thigh soreness), and Marash Kumbulla (meniscus tear) practiced fully Friday, and they should be good to go. Pedro is nursing a thigh strain, Riccardo Calafiori subbed off midweek due to a thigh problem.

Sampdoria: Bartosz Bereszynski and Albin Ekdal are expected to return from their minor thigh injuries, while Ernesto Torregrossa (calf strain) is shelved. Fabio Quagliarella is out with a last-minute thigh bruise, Gaston Ramirez with a knock on the knee.

Returning: Bereszynski, Ekdal; Missing: Quagliarella, Torregrossa, Ramirez. 

Sassuolo: Filip Djuricic is suspended. Kaan Ayhan could be back post COVID, while Francesco Caputo will remain sidelined but stated that he would be back soon after a check-up. Giacomo Raspadori is questionable with an undiclosed ailment.

Spezia: M’Bala Nzola will return, while Martin Erlic and Simone Bastoni are not completely out of the woods after being spared midweek.

Torino: Salvatore Sirigu has turned negative.

Udinese: Gerard Deulofeu (meniscus tear), Ignacio Pussetto and Mato Jajalo (ACL tear) are out.

Verona: Stefano Sturaro is disqualified. Federico Ceccheirni and Matteo Lovato missed the last game due to minor thigh issues and will continue to be assessed. Rolando Vieira is rumored to be coming back soon from his thigh strain. Miguel Veloso is out for a neck injury.
