Premier League Predictions: Week 27

Whilst Liverpool will win the league this season all of the attention has turned to European places. Any of five different teams could finish 4th and there are some mouth watering games coming up at the weekend, including Chelsea v Tottenham. Below are our predictions for the games this weekend.

Chelsea v Tottenham

Chelsea lost to Manchester United in their last game here and have been defeated at home 5 times. They did beat Tottenham in the reverse fixture and Tottenham do have an injury crisis. This could be a low scoring game where we expect Jose Mourinho on his emotional return to Stamford Bridge to come out as a winner. Tottenham to beat Chelsea

Burnley v Bournemouth

Burnley have gone unbeaten for the last 4 games and are in very good form. Bournemouth are in 16th and a loss here could spell disaster. The club have lost their last 4 games in a row away from home, and we think they could halt that run. Draw

Crystal Palace v Newcastle

Palace have no wins this year and have lost their last 3 games in a row. Newcastle did lose 4-0 to Arsenal last weekend but actually played some good football. Allan Saint-Maximin looked very quick and this will be a hard game for the home side as the Magpies look to push on. Newcastle to beat Crystal Palace

Sheffield United v Brighton

Brighton have lost 8 of their 13 away games and they face an uphill struggle to get anything from this game as the Blades look to advance on 4th place as best they can. Sheffield United to beat Brighton

Southampton v Aston Villa

The Saints have recovered well in recent months but they come into this game having lost 3 of their last 4. Aston Villa looked impressive against Tottenham and could give Southampton a real game here. Jack Grealish can run the show. Draw

Leicester v Manchester City

Leicester have been terrific this season but each time they have had to play the better teams they have failed, and we can see them losing this one. It should be very entertaining. Sergio Aguero and Jamie Vardy will both have a point to prove but a win here could see City get daylight to Leicester and move 7 points clear of them. Manchester City to beat Leicester

Manchester United v Watford

United have some key players out but Bruno Fernandes looks like he can step up in midfield. Also Anthony Martial has  a new lease of confidence as the main striker after Marcus Rashford’s injury. Watford have done quite well recently but should be no match for United here. Manchester United to beat Watford

Wolves v Norwich

Wolves will be the favourites but they are struggling to win games, with just one win in their past five. Norwich in bottom who look like they will go down, have little to lose now and are just trying to enjoy their football. They could spring a surprise. Norwich to beat Wolves

Arsenal v Everton

Arsenal had an excellent second half v Newcastle and that will inject confidence in the side. Everton haven’t looked better for a good 18 months and also unlike Arsenal didn’t have to play in the Europa League in midweek. Everton don’t do well at Arsenal but we can still see them going away here with a point. Watch out for Dani Cellabalos who could pose all sorts of problems with his pace against the away side. Draw

Liverpool v West Ham

Liverpool are 22 points ahead they will win the league but the objective is remaining unbeaten too. They should win this game with ease but may have to work very hard at it as West Ham will play very defensively and try and make life hard. There is just too much quality in this Reds side though and Mohamed Salah loves playing against West Ham who could well be relegated this season. Liverpool to beat West Ham

Premier League Predictions: Week 26

The winter break is still here but we do  have staggered games, and that means we will see 6 games at the weekend. The likes of Liverpool, Leicester, Tottenham and Arsenal will all be in action. Let’s take a look at the games and the players who could stand out.

Wolves v Leicester

Here are two teams very equal and two teams that have surprised many fans this season. We think this early kick off will end in a point apiece for the teams. It will be interesting if Wolves’ Diogo Jota can get a run out as he scored a hat trick against Leicester last season. Draw

Southampton v Burnley

The Saints have had a slight knock back losing 2 of their last 3 games and Burnley are unbeaten in their last 3 games. We will take the draw here in a game that we expect to have plenty of chances for both sides but also be physical. Draw

Norwich v Liverpool

It would be the biggest shock of the season if Norwich were to become the first team to beat Liverpool this season. Norwich are bottom of the league and have lost 15 games, they are also 7 points from safety. Liverpool really should have no problems to win this game and should ease to victory. Although we should remember that Norwich did beat Manchester City here earlier in the season. Liverpool to beat Norwich

Aston Villa v Tottenham

Aston Villa are just 1 point above the bottom three and have one win in their last four games. The club have won 40% of their home games which isn’t good enough in this league. Tottenham have had a little rest also, but Jose Mourinho is in a good mood and the players look more settled under him. Watch out for Steven Bergwijn can he create magic like he did a few weeks ago? Tottenham to beat Aston Villa

Arsenal v Newcastle

Mikel Arteta has just 1 win in his 7 league games, but also has only lost one, the club just keep on drawing games. So do Newcastle who have 3 in their last four games. If Newcastle can use Joelinton to his full capacity he could be a handle and he likes playing in London. Draw

Chelsea v Manchester United

The big game. With Chelsea in 4th they could really slip up for their Champions League hopes if they don’t get a win. United have already won here in the Carabao Cup earlier in the season. This could be and should be an epic game. United are in 8th and if they lose this game they would slip 9 points behind a Champions League place. N’Golo Kante can run things in midfield and we are going to back the home side over an injury depleted United one who have only won 3 games away from home. Chelsea to beat Manchester United

Premier League Predictions for the Weekend

Because of the winter break some games have been broken up and staggered and we will only have 4 games being played this weekend. Of the top six only one team will be in action which will be current champions Manchester City. They have the opportunity to close the gap on Liverpool to 19 points. All jokes aside, City need the win to maintain 2nd place as Leicester are only 2 points behind.

At the bottom West Ham and Bournemouth need to pick up points and Brighton could also get sucked into the relegation fight. The problem for West Ham is that they will face Manchester City and under David Moyes the London club has just one win in the league so far.

Let’s take a look at the 4 games being played over the weekend and analyse what could happen.

Everton v Crystal Palace

Everton are unbeaten in their last 4 games and at home they have not lost this year. Crystal Palace have no wins this year and have lost back to back games. This game should be close but Everton should have more than enough to win this game. Richarlison is due a goal too. Everton to beat Crystal Palace

Brighton v Watford

Brighton have drawn 3 of their last 5 games and just can’t find 3 points as they slip down the table. Watford look liked pulling off the great escape but are still in 19th and have not won for their last 3 games. Both teams may just be happy to share the points. Draw

Sheffield United v Bournemouth

The Blades have had a very good season and would feel disappointed not to win this game. Bournemouth have slipped to 16th place but won their last two matches but they were at home. Bournemouth have lost 8 from 12 away including their last 3 in a row. Look out for United’s John Fleck who could be a danger in midfield. Sheffield United to beat Bournemouth

Manchester City v West Ham

Each time Manchester City have lost a game like they did last weekend against Tottenham they have won and scored many goals in the next one. West Ham have been really poor lately and are now in the bottom three. They will set up to defend and if City can score early there could be a floodgate of goals. The Hammers are under huge pressure and the weaker team and City have none now and will enjoy their football. Sergio Aguero at the ready. Manchester City to beat West Ham

Premier League Predictions: Week 25

Liverpool are now 19 points in front of 2nd placed Manchester City and it only seems like a matter of time now before the Reds are crowned champions of England since 1990. But there is still plenty to play for in the top 4 and the bottom three is looking very exciting, teams can still get dragged down.

Below we will look at the matches this weekend and possible outcomes.

Leicester v Chelsea

A massive game where Leicester could go 11 points clear of 3rd placed Chelsea, or the gap could be reduced to just 5 points. Both teams have questionable form dropping too many points lately. Leicester have 1 win in their last 4 home games. Whilst Jamie Vardy gets the plaudits watch out for Kelechi Iheanacho who could make the difference in a game that will be a midfield tussle. Draw

Bournemouth v Aston Villa

18th v 16th in a crunch relegation battle. Bournemouth did well in their last home game to beat Brighton. Villa have lost 8 of their 12 away games and had to play a taxing midweek cup game. Bournemouth to beat Aston Villa

Crystal Palace v Sheffield United

Two tough and stubborn teams this could be quite low scoring. Palace have drawn 4 of their last five games and this could be another one, both sides might just prefer to settle for a point here. Draw

Liverpool v Southampton

Everyone keeps thinking Liverpool are going to slip up against a side you wouldn’t expect them too. They do need to score more goals and this should be a very routine win. Still Southampton have won their last 4 away games in a row beating Leicester and Chelsea. Liverpool to beat Southampton

Newcastle v Norwich

Out of all of the games this weekend this is the one that looks a banker. Newcastle have slipped a little lately but they have gone 3 games unbeaten now and Norwich’s away form is poor just 1 win all season and 5 points earned from a possible 36. Newcastle to beat Norwich

Watford v Everton

Watford have hit a wall but will battle on as they try to avoid relegation. Everton haven’t been very convincing on the road and they have a poor record away to Watford, they haven’t won here since 2007. This could be all set up for a stalemate. Watch out for former Watford player Richarlison who was linked to Barcelona this week. Draw

West Ham v Brighton

A massive game here because West Ham could get sucked into the bottom three and have very difficult matches coming up. The Hammers played some good football against Liverpool and should have enough to ease to a win here against Brighton who are looking quite poor. West Ham to beat Brighton

Manchester United v Wolves

Manchester United have lost 3 of their last 4 games but Wolves have only won once in their last five. This should be a very close game. The problem for United is their injuries are mounting up, they need a new hero, could Anthony Martial step up? Wolves to beat Manchester United

Burnley v Arsenal

Arsenal’s away form has been really poor. But they should take some heart from their away win v Bournemouth in the FA Cup, and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is back again after suspension. Burnley though have just beaten Leicester and Manchester United and are in good form. Arsenal will need the key decisions. Arsenal to beat Burnley

Tottenham v Manchester City

Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola will do battle one more in what should be a superb game. Tottenham have repeatedly failed to beat the best teams under Mourinho and City will be up for this clash. Tottenham have some key injuries too and City should have enough quality to win this one. Manchester City to beat Tottenham

Premier League Predictions: Week 23

It’s another round of the English Premier League with some exciting games as the top 4 is still up for grabs and so is relegation. Which teams will be able to make in roads and can Liverpool stretch their unbeaten run to 39 games when they face old rival Manchester United?

Watford v Tottenham

The weekend kicks off with this Saturday lunchtime game and what a game it looks to be. Watford have been in brilliant form and are unbeaten in their last five games. They have climbed out of the relegation zone. Tottenham have been in mixed form and are 9 points behind 4th place now. With Harry Kane out Jose Mourinho will be relying on Heung-Min Son to find some form.  Watford and Tottenham to draw

Arsenal v Sheffield United

Arsenal have been average even under Mikel Arteta with just one win in his 4 games so far. But last time they were at home they beat Manchester United 2-0. One would think they will have too much for the Blades here. Mesut Ozil looks like a new player, though Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang their potent striker will be missing after being sent off. A narrow win perhaps? Arsenal to beat Sheffield United

Brighton v Aston Villa

Both sides have shown a lack of form and Brighton have slipped to 14th place and have won just once in their last five games. Aston Villa lost 6-1 at home to Manchester City last weekend and are in 18th but a win here could move them out of the bottom three and they could join Brighton on the same points. Watch out for Jack Grealish who is using this year to try and get into England’s team for Euro 2020. Brighton and Aston Villa to draw

Manchester City v Crystal Palace

Last season Crystal Palace stunned Manchester City at the Etihad with a 3-2 win. But it was a one off stunning goal that won it for the Eagles. City are in rich form and scoring goals, with 10 in their last 3 games. A win here would take them to 50 points. Can Sergio Aguero score more goals this weekend after his fantastic hat trick? Manchester City to beat Crystal Palace

Norwich v Bournemouth

Norwich look doomed for relegation. They are bottom of the league and 8 points from safety. They have earned 2 points from their past 15. Bournemouth are in 19th but are six points ahead of the Canaries. This is Norwich’s biggest game of the season, they need to win and need a player like Teemu Pukki to show his early season form. Norwich to beat Bournemouth

Southampton v Wolves

Along with Watford, Southampton have been the team of the moment. They beat Leicester away from home after losing to the same team 9-0 a couple of months ago. Their recovery looks complete. Wolves have quality but had to play in midweek in the FA Cup and lost to Manchester United. The Saints are at home and the fresher team. Southampton to beat Wolves

West Ham v Everton

David Moyes will face his former team who he spent 11 years at. Moyes’ 2nd stint with the Hammers started well but they lost to Sheffield United last week. Carlo Ancelotti has won 3 of his first five games with Everton. We expect to see a very entertaining game with the away side getting all three points. Richarlison looks fired up since Ancelotti took charge. Everton to beat West Ham

Newcastle v Chelsea

Newcastle have only lost 3 games at home and Chelsea usually don’t travel so well up here. The Blues have gone their last three matches unbeaten, but this will be a tough game for them. The Magpies have not won in 4 games but this record won’t keep up. Jonjo Shelvey just needs to show some of his brilliant form before Christmas. Newcastle to beat Chelsea

Burnley v Leicester

Burnley have lost 4 games in a row coming into this match and that includes losing 4 of their last five home games and now they are up against the 3rd best team in England right now. Leicester’s form has dipped but they can get back on track with a win here. Leicester to beat Burnley

Liverpool v Manchester United

One of the all time great fixtures of football. Liverpool are still unbeaten and have a  100% record at Anfield. They have no major injuries and no distractions. Manchester United are missing Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford could be touch and go. Liverpool are light years ahead of United even though it was the Red Devils who have taken the only points from Liverpool so far. Liverpool to beat Manchester United
