Serie A Injury Report – Round 11

Juventus: Mario Mandzukic has practiced fully this week so he has recovered from an ankle sprain. Sami Khedira has resumed training regularly in the last couple of days after a hamstring strain and he could be available in limited capacity on Saturday. Giorgio Chiellini and Federico Bernardeschi are fatigued and have been ruled out by coach Allegri. Emre Can will miss 30-40 days after having his thyroid removed for some nodules.

Inter:  Radja Nainggolan has worked his way back from an ankle sprain and he could play few minutes on Saturday.

Napoli: Adam Ounas is available after some muscle fatigue, while Sebastiano Luperto (thigh), Simone Verdi (thigh), Alex Meret (forearm) and Amin Younes (Achilles) have been ruled out. The winger and the goalie are expected to be available after the break.

Milan: Mattia Caldara suffered a partial Achilles and calf myotendinous juction tear and he is out for the foreseeable future, likely until January. Lucas Biglia was seen on crutches after the Genoa game and he is rumored to have suffered a severe calf injury, but the club has yet to issue an official update. Giacomo Bonaventura has missed time with some knee soreness, Davide Calabria because of an ankle sprain and they are out for the next game. Hakan Calhanoglu joins them on the shelf because of a recent stomp.

Lazio: Riza Durmisi could come back this week from a dislocated elbow. Milan Badelj subbed off early against Inter, but he got away with a thigh pull that will not sideline him for long past this week. On the other hand, Lucas Leiva has suffered a grade 1-2 adductor strain and he could be on the shelf for up to 40 days. Senad Lulic has missed a practice with a calf problem, but he could still be able to play.

Fiorentina: Christian Norgaard (LCL sprain) is again their only injured player.

Sampdoria: Gregoire Defrel and Nicola Murru were forced to leave the last game because of muscular problems and they are questionable for the weekend. They both look on track to feature.

Roma: Daniele De Rossi has a sore knee and will not be available against Fiorentina, same for Diego Perotti (calf strain) and Rick Karsdorp (thigh strain), who have been out recently. Kostas Manolas has a bruised quad and will be game-time decision. Justin Kluivert and Javier Pastore should be called up after nursing some muscular ailments. Luca Pellegrini turned his ankle in practice but avoided structural damage, so he could be out for just a couple of weeks.

Sassuolo: Alfred Duncan has worked his way back from a muscular injury that has forced him to miss a lot of time. Mehdi Bourabia is banged up and will miss the game. Jeremie Boga’s recovery time from a tibia clean-up surgery is uncertain.

Torino:  Cristian Ansaldi could be back in the squad list after spending two months on the shelf because of a knee sprain.

Genoa: Domenico Criscito is suspended. Federico Marchetti is out with a thigh strain, Andrea Favilli with knee soreness. Nicolas Spolli (thigh) has a shot at being available.

Cagliari: Diego Farias (calf muscle fatigue), Ragnar Klavan (sore Achilles) and Charalampos Lykogiannis (calf strain) are not expected back this week.

Parma: Antonino Barillà is disqualified. Roberto Inglese (back) Alberto Grassi have been called up and could play few minutes. Matteo Scozzarella returned last week from an Achilles tear, while Federico Dimarco, Francisco Sierralta and Gianni Munari are out with long-term issues.

Atalanta: Andrea Masiello (thigh strain), Marco Tumminello (dislocated elbow) and Arkadiusz Reca (abdomen) are set to miss another one.

SPAL: Pasquale Schiattarella is suspended. Johan Djourou (ankle sprain) is again unlikely to play, while Mattia Valoti has a bruised ankle and will not be at the coach’s disposal. Jasmin Kurtic remains out with an elbow fracture.

Udinese: Lukasz Teodorczyk has undergone surgery to reduce sports hernia and will be absent for 40 days. Darwin Machis has recovered from a calf problem, while the statuses of Bram Nuytinck (thihg) and Giuseppe Pezzella (quad) are more murky.

Bologna: Mitchell Dijks and Danilo are dealing with minor muscular problems, but they have a chance to recover for the weekend. Federico Mattiello will sit another one.

Empoli: Levan Mchedlidze (thigh) and Alejandro Rodriguez (ACL tear) have not been called up for the Napoli clash. Miha Zajc and Domenico Maietta had some minor isses this week but they are in the squad list.

Frosinone: Emil Hallfredsson and Joaquin Ardaiz are again in doubt because of knee tendinopathy and a thigh strain respectively. Cristian Molinaro should be back after missing one with muscle fatigue.

Chievo: Emanuele Giaccherini and Joel Obi returned last week, Perparim Hetemaj is dinged up, while Fabrizio Cacciatore (calf), Nenad Tomovic (adductor) and Filip Djordjevic have missed a lot of time with their problems at this point. Federico Barba and Nicola Rigoni have reportedly picked up some new injuries this week and are questionable.
