AC Milan rumour round-up: Laxalt and Suso face uncertain future; Correa stalemate

Another week has gone by, and as usual, there has been no shortage of AC Milan news. In fact, the Rossoneri remain very active on the market as a few pieces are still missing in Giampaolo’s team. Down below are the latest rumours.

Suso future still uncertain

The Spaniard’s future is yet to be decided, despite Giampaolo’s comments on him the other week, stating that he has fallen in love with the player and thus wants to keep him. Milan, however, potentially have other plans as they are willing to listen to offers. The price tag is believed to be around €35m.

During the pre-season tour, the winger (although now converted to a trequartista) has been the best player in the team, arguably playing an important role in the positive signs shown from the new 4-3-1-2 formation. Therefore, the management’s decision to keep him on the market is questionable.

Laxalt attracting interest in Italy

In addition to Suso, the Rossoneri are also working to offload a few more players, including Laxalt. The Uruguayan has attracted interest in Italy, as the likes of Parma, SPAL and Torino have asked Milan for information on the situation. However, no agreement has been reached yet.

The San Siro side have slapped a €12-13m price tag on the left-back, and they would allow him to leave on loan this summer, but only if an obligation to buy is included in the deal. It remains to be seen if any of the teams mentioned will be able to meet the demands.

Correa situation hasn’t changed

With regards to the Argentine striker, nothing has changed. The negotiations are still at a stalemate, as both parties are unwilling to budge on their respective conditions. The distance between both sides is €10m, which includes the bonuses. Atletico are asking for €55m, while Milan have offered as much as €45m.

The Rossoneri already have the ‘yes’ of the striker, who wants to leave this summer in order to have guaranteed playing time next season. Therefore, Milan intend to wait until the end of the market, hoping that Atletico will lower their demands in the end. For now, though, the situation is still locked.

Should Milan succeed in selling a few players, such as Andre Silva and Laxalt, then we could see progress in the Correa negotiations. Then again, Milan could just as well decide to take a gamble and wait it out, as the Spanish side most likely will have to sell the player this summer anyway.
