Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round Two

Atalanta: Timothy Castagne will miss another one as he is recovering from a meniscus tear, but he should be ready after the break.

Bologna: no absentees for the Felsinei who will play tonight.

Brescia: Mario Balotelli continue serving his suspension, while Giangiacomo Magnani will miss another one too. Ernesto Torregrossa has recovered and might start.

Cagliari: Leonardo Pavoletti suffered an ACL and meniscus tear in the left knee and will be out for three-to-six months. Fabrizio Cacciatore and Filip Bradaric (thigh) are unlikely to return this week, while the fact that they are signing another goalie does not bode well for the status of Alessio Cragno, who sprained his right shoulder during the pre-season and might require surgery.

Fiorentina: Jacob Rasmussen in questionable due to an illness.

Genoa: Riccardo Saponara has recovered enough to be called up. Francesco Cassata is dealing with a toe fracture.

Inter: Diego Godin has resumed working with the group after that a thigh injury forced him to miss time and should be called up, while Stefan De Vrij was a late scratch on Monday and is iffy, as his injury has yet to be fully evaluated. Stefano Sensi should be able to play despite a recent hamstring issue.

Juventus: Aaron Ramsey is dealing with some back pain and is on the mend this week as well. No lingering issues for Douglas Costa, who subbed off against Parma after a knock on the ankle. Giorgio Chiellini tore his right ACL in practice and is out for 5-6 months, maybe longer.

Lazio: Wallace has a thigh injury, but is also probably on the way out of the club, while Jordan Lukaku is making strides in his recovery from a patellar tendon tear. Lucas Leiva spent last game on the bench bout could reprise his starting role here. Francesco Acerbi is fine.

Lecce: Diego Farias is suspended, while Simone La Mantia is banged up, but he made the squad list. Riccardo Fiamozzi (back), Simone Lo Faso and Biagio Meccariello (knee) are not expected back before the break.

Milan: Pepe Reina has recovered from his muscular problem, while Lucas Biglia and Theo Hernandez (ankle) continue rehabbing his ankle sprain and should be ready for the third round.

Napoli: Arkadiusz Milik is having troubles shaking off what was deemed a minor hamstring problem, while Lorenzo Tonelli is dealing with a knee sprain.

Parma: Juraj Kucka was unused against Juventus, but he was fit enough to be on the bench despite a recent calf issue. Luca Rigoni has an achy knee.

Roma: Diego Perotti suffered a major thigh (rectus femoris) strain and will miss 45-60 days. Leonardo Spinazzola should not be back this week.

Sampdoria: Manolo Gabbiadini and Jeison Murillo are both dealing with minor muscular injuries, but they are in the squad list and should be able to play at least in limited capacity. Gonzalo Maroni stays sidelined with an ankle sprain.

Sassuolo: Rogerio tore a meniscus in a collision last week and will be on the shelf for a month after undergoing surgery, which has not happened yet. Alessandro Matri is dinged up but he is available.

SPAL: no absences other than Mohamed Fares’ long-term one.

Torino: Cristian Ansaldi strained his right calf and will be out of commission for up to a month. Simone Zaza hurt his knee against Wolverhampton and is very likely to miss the next game. Lyanco (thigh) and Iago Falque (knee) are not ready yet, but there are slim hopes about a call-up for the defender. Nicolas Nkoulou is out because he asked to be sold.

Udinese: Hidde Ter Avest is sidelined by an unspecified injury.

Verona: Pawel Dawidowicz is disqualified, Samuel Di Carmine served his but a thigh strain will keep him out again, joining Alessandro Crescenzi (thigh) and Emmanuel Badu (lungs) on the mend.
