Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round Seven

Atalanta: Luis Muriel returned in Champions League from his tonsillitis and thus they have no injuries to worry about.

Bologna: Roberto Soriano is suspended, while Mitchell Dijks is trying to come back from a ribs contusion, but he has yet to resume practicing fully.

Cagliari: Charalampos Lykogiannis is dealing with some Achilles soreness, while Ragnar Klavan has some thigh muscle fatigue. They are iffy for the weekend. Christian Oliva and Simone Pinna are under the weather. Among these, only Oliva has been able to recover enough to be called up.

Fiorentina: Jacob Rasmussen continues to be sidelined by an illness.

Genoa: Antonio Barreca subbed off last week due to a bruised calf and is considered questionable.

Inter: Alexis Sanchez is disqualified. Romelu Lukaku missed the Barcelona clash due to quad fatigue, but he should be ready to rumble on Sunday.

Juventus: no returns among those nursing thigh injuries, so Danilo, Mattia De Sciglio and Douglas Costa.

Lazio: Joaquin Correa suffered a thigh contracture in the last Serie A game, but he is trending in the right direction.

Lecce: Diego Farias, Cristiano Dell’Orco and Gianluca Lapadula missed the last couple of games, but the two strikers have resumed practicing fully and might be called up. Andrea Tabanelli and Khouma Babacar are dinged up. The three strikers were able to make the squad list, while Tabanelli is out.

Milan: Mateo Musacchio is suspended.

Napoli: Kalidou Koulibaly will serve the final game of his ban, as the club did not appeal. Mario Rui pulled his thigh in Champions League, while Nikola Maksimovic did the same against Brescia and they both will be on the shelf for this one.

Parma: Vincent Laurini suffered a head trauma against Torino that required a full week of rest, so he will not be available on Saturday. Alberto Grassi is expected to be back after some knee soreness, while Roberto Inglese was sick earlier in the week but should be available. Matteo Darmian (thigh) will return rafter the break.

Roma: Lorenzo Pellegrini sustained a fifth metatarsal fracture in the right foot that will sideline him for up to two months, while Henrikh Mkhitaryan will miss the Cagliari game due to a thigh MTJ strain. Cengiz Under and Diego Perotti (thigh) have not recovered. Damir Cetin is out as well with an illness, like in the past few weeks. Davide Zappacosta has suffered an ACL tear in practice and will miss the standard six months. Alessandro Florenzi will miss the game due to the flu.

Sampdoria: Manolo Gabbiadini has solved the muscolar issue that forced him to skip the last game and also Gonzalo Maroni will return after the break being on the shelf for nearly two months because of an ankle sprain. Karol Linetty suffered a thigh contracture and is doubtful for Sunday. Morten Thorsby is hurt and unlikely to play.

SPAL: Felipe, Jasmin Kurtic (knee) and Mattia Valoti are all expected to be available after missing the Juventus game. Federico Di Francesco will instead skip another one due to a thigh strain.

Torino: Bremer is suspended, while Simone Zaza is dealing with some muscle fatigue in his calf and it will be tough for him to recover so close to the match.

Udinese: Rodrigo Becao and Lukasz Teodorczyk are fatigued and questionable, while Hidde Ter Avest appears to have shaken off the patellar tendinopathy that has held him out so far. Larsen is banged up but should play. Becao has been ruled, while Teodorczyk made the squad list.

Verona: Salvatore Bocchetti has made the squad list after being on the mend for three weeks due to a calf strain. Samuel Di Carmine will miss another one due to a head trauma. Alessandro Crescenzi and Daniel Bessa (thigh strains) could return after the break, while Emmanuel Badu (pulmonary micro embolism) remains without a timetable.
