Serie A Injuries and Suspensions Report – Round 27

Atalanta: Josip Ilicic sprained his right ankle in practice and will have to be assessed before the Lazio game. Mario Pasalic is suspended.

Bologna: Mattia Bani, Jerdy Schouten and Federico Santander are suspended and the striker also picked up a biceps femoris strain and will be sidelined for three-to-four weeks. Similar timetable for Andreas Skov Olsen, who is nursing a lesion of the myotendinous junction of the right flexor.

Brescia: Sandro Tonali and Stefano Sabelli picked up some knocks recently and will be game-time calls. Andrea Cistana underwent surgery to repair his right peroneal tendon during the break and is still recovering. Jhon Chancellor suffered a thigh strain last week and will miss two or three matches. Enrico Alfonso might be held out due to a thigh hematoma. Dimitri Bisoli reportedly tore his patellar tendon and will out for six-to-seven months. 

Cagliari: Luca Cigarini was red-carded against Verona, Luca Ceppitelli is suspended due to yellow-card accumulation. Radja Nainggolan (calf) and Christian Oliva (ankle) are unlikely to make it in time. Daniele Ragatzu has a sore knee.

Fiorentina: Franck Ribery has recuperated from his massive ankle sprain, so the only absentee is Christian Kouame, who might be back in mid-July from his ACL tear.

Genoa: Paolo Ghiglione and Lukas Lerager shook off their problems during the lockdown, while Ivan Radovanovic (ACL tear) might have a tough time coming back in time. Federico Marchetti is suspended. Antonio Sanabria is not 100 percent. 

Inter: Diego Godin and Danilo D’Ambrosio made the bench for the Sassuolo game so shook off their nagging injuries, while Matias Vecino (knee) is likely to stay out.

Juventus: Alex Sandro suffered an MCL tear in Coppa Italia and will be on the shelf for a month. Sami Khedira ruptured the tendon of the adductor longus in his right thigh and, while he and the medical staff are still weighing their options, it is likely he will miss the rest of the season. Gonzalo Higuain and Giorgio Chiellini are questionable with minor muscular issue. Merih Demiral needs some time to return from his ACL tear.

Lazio: Senad Lulic has had some hiccups in his recovery from ankle surgery and will not be back before mid-July. Luiz Felipe is iffy due to calf tightness, Lucas Leiva because of a sore knee, Adam Marusic with an undisclosed issue. Bobby Adekanye is rehabbing a muscular problem: none of the aformentioned players is available. 

Lecce: Giulio Donati is suspended. Matteo Mancosu and Diego Farias are dealing with muscle fatigue, the latter is more at risk than the former. Alessandro Deiola has a sore knee, while Antonin Barak is trying to shake off a contusion. Cristian Dell’Orco recently underwent sports-hernia surgery and is unlikely to be back anytime soon.

Milan: Zlatan Ibrahimovic sustained a calf strain in late May and could be back for the Roma match next week. Mateo Musacchio went under the knife for an ankle keyhole surgery and will be on the mend for about a month. Leo Duarte is questionable with muscle fatigue.

Napoli: Slobodan Lobotka has shaken off some rectus femoris soreness. Kostas Manolas has healed from a thigh strain, but he will remain home to work on his fitness, while Kevin Malcuit is completing the rehab protocol from an ACL tear.

Parma: Alberto Grassi, Giuseppe Pezzella and Luca Siligardi were unavailable against Torino due to concerns over their fitness level.

Roma: Lorenzo Pellegrini and Henrikh Mkhitaryan are both not 100 percent but they should be at their coach’s disposal. Gianluca Mancini sprained his elbow but should be able to play with a splint. Pau Lopez suffered a wrist microfracture in mid-May, but might be cleared just in time. Nicolò Zaniolo has resumed practicing after his ACL rupture and it should take him two or three weeks to be fully ready. Amadou Diawara recuperated from his knee issue during the pandemic.

Sampdoria: Fabio Quagliarella is more doubtful than questionable due to a bruised calf, Manolo Gabbiadini is banged up as well.

Sassuolo: Jeremy Toljan was forced to bow out with an undisclosed problem against Inter. Marlon is suspended.

SPAL: Etrit Berisha fractured the fifth metacarpal in his right hand and could very well be out for all the remaining fixtures. Back-up Karlo Letica has recovered from a rectus femoris pull. Federico Di Francesco hurt his thigh again and will undergo some exams. 

Torino: Cristian Ansaldi (calf) has been named in the squad list to face Udinese, Simone Verdi (thigh) instead has not.

Udinese: Jens Stryger Larsen cracked his right wrist but will gut it out. Sebastian Prodl is still rehabbing from knee tendinopathy.

Verona: Fabio Borini was sent off against Torino. Matteo Passina has shaken off some muscle fatigue, while Pawel Dawidowicz is out with pec injury, alongside Andrea Danzi (ankle).
