Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 24

Atalanta: Berat Djimsiti is suspended. Duvan Zapata picked up a contracture versus Real Madrid and will probably miss this one.

Benevento: Kamil Glik was red-carded last week. Gaetano Letizia is expected back after some time off due to a thigh strain, while Riccardo Improta is recovering from one of his own but he is not totally out yet. Iago Falque announced that he is going to miss some time. Bryan Dabo is questionable:

Bologna: Aaron Hickey was sent off in the past match. Mitchell Dijks will return after missing one due to muscle fatigue. Gary Medel (calf) and Paolo Faragò (thigh) will miss another one. Takehiro Tomiyasu (calf) and Andri Baldursson will both be on the mend for two-to-three weeks with recent strains. 

Cagliari: Ragnar Klavan has some chances to return, while Riccardo Sottil is still practicing on the side due to a thigh injury.

Crotone: Koffi Djidji missed the previous game with a contracture, while Sebastiano Luperto got clipped on the Achilles, but they might both be available. Giuseppe Cuomo (hip) and Ahmad Benali (thigh) instead will probably remain on the mend.

Fiorentina: Giacomo Bonaventura will miss three-to-four weeks due to a strain of a lower leg’s muscle. Franck Ribery could be back after sitting out two games. Christian Kouame will miss time with a thigh strain. 

Genoa: Luca Pellegrini suffered a right thigh strain in the past match and will miss considerable time. Francesco Cassata could return from a similar issue, while Cristian Zapata is working on his conditioning after some time on the mend with a calf problem. Alberto Paleari sat out few matches with muscle fatigue. Davide Biraschi should not be far off from coming back from his shoulder problem.

Inter: Achraf Hakimi is suspended. Stefano Sensi is dealing with a thigh ailment.

Juventus: Danilo is out due to yellow-card accumulation. Alvaro Morata will likely sit this one out due to a non-COVID viral infection. Paulo Dybala (knee), Arthur (lower leg), Juan Cuadrado (thigh) and Leonardo Bonucci (thigh) are not ready, Giorgio Chiellini (calf) has slim chances.

Lazio: Gonzalo Escalante is suspended. Thomas Strakosha was called up midweek after being sidelined by a knee sprain. Stefan Radu is not expected to be out for long following sports hernia surgery as he has already resumed running.

Milan: Mario Mandzukic and Ismael Bennacer will probably skip this round due to thigh issues.

Napoli: Dries Mertens played few minutes midweek versus Granada after completing his rehab from an ankle injury. Victor Osimhen suffered a head trauma in the past game and he is doubtful. Diego Demme, Elseid Hysaj, Andrea Petagna and David Ospina have only an outside shot of coming back from their muscular problems. Kostas Manolas (ankle) and Hirving Lozano (thigh) are out of commission.

Parma: Mattia Bani and Gaston Brugman are suspended. Roberto Inglese and Lautaro Valenti re-joined the rest of their teammates in practice, but only the defender is good to go. Graziano Pellè (calf) and Hans Nicolussi Caviglia (knee) on the shelf. Gervinho suffered a late thigh injury and will miss at least the next three matches, while Joshua Zirkzee is a late scratch with back pain. 

Roma: Edin Dzeko will be out for a couple of weeks due to an adductor problem. Bryan Cristante returned there from his back problem. Marash Kumbulla (thigh) has the most chances of coming back among their injured defenders as Chris Smalling and Roger Ibanez are nursing more serious issues.

Sampdoria: Adrien Silva is suspended. Ernesto Torregrossa will miss three-to-four weeks with a calf strain. Omar Colley picked up an undisclosed problem late in the week.

Spezia: M’Bala Nzola will return from his ankle injury. Diego Farias, Claudio Terzi and Federico Mattiello have resumed practicing following thigh strains, but only the first two have been deemed fit. Riccardo Marchizza is out of commission after resting due to a head trauma. Tommaso Pobega is a late scratch due to a knock in practice. 

Torino: they will not play in this round but Andrea Belotti, Wilfred Singo, Bremer, Alessandro Buongiorno, Nicola Murru, Karol Linetty and Daniele Baselli reportedly tested positive for COVID, which is going to impact the following matches as well.

Udinese: Roberto Pereyra and Marvin Zeegelaar are disqualified. Gerard Deulofeu (knee) and Fernando Forestieri could be forced to skip another game.

Verona: Pawel Dawidowicz (muscle fatigue) and Federico Ceccherini (thigh strain) will be options, while Kevin Ruegg (ankle), Nikola Kalinic (thigh) and Ebrima Colley (knee) will miss extended time.
