Falcao the Top Fantasy Player in France’s Ligue 1

Radamel Falcao’s incredible start to the 2017-18 season has seen him top the Fantasy rankings for all players in France’s Ligue 1. Falcao has managed to score in 6 of the 7 matches, with the 0-4 defeat at Nice being the only game in which he failed to find the back of the next in the French League.

Falcao is one of the main reasons why Monaco remain just a single point behind big spending PSG in the league table. Despite the loss of players such as Benjamin Mendy, Bernardo Silva and Kylian Mbappé Lottin, Monaco’s current squad has so far managed to remain close to the top, largely thanks to Falcao’s 11 league goals. The 11 goals and 1 assist by Falcao resulted in 48 points for our fantasy football managers.

In second place, and with a total of 33 points, a massive 15 points behind Radamel, is PSG goalkeeper Alphonse Areola. Alphonse kept 5 clean sheets in 7 league matches while conceding just 3 goals.

In third place is his teammate Edinson Cavani who has 30 points after Week 7 of France’s Ligue 1. Cavani managed to score 7 goals and provided 2 assists. Unfortunately, and despite his solid numbers, Cavani’s season has been marked by controversy due to his penalty dispute with Neymar. Edinson ended up messing the penalty which deprived him of 2 more points in www.eurofantasyleague.com Game points.

It will be interesting to see what this weekend will hold for the top point earners in Ligue 1 with Monaco set to host Montpellier in a tricky fixture. Last week, Montpellier forced PSG to settle for a scoreless draw. Will they do it again at Monaco?

As for PSG, they will play host to Bordeaux in a clash between two of the best sides in France, as Bordeaux is in 3rd place just four points behind the Paris based club. Will Falcao score again? Will Alphonse keep another clean sheet? How will Cavani and Neymar co-exist on a team filled with attacking talent?
