Serie A Player Status Updates – Round 36

Injuries pile up at the end of the season and unfortunately some top players got caught.

Juventus: Miralem Pjanic is suspended, while Mario Mandzukic will be held out due to a cut on the ankle. Giorgio Chiellini, Stefano Sturaro and Mattia De Sciglio are out with their previous injuries. Benedikt Howedes suffered yet another muscular ailment. 

Napoli: Kalidou Koulibaly is disqualified and Faouzi Ghoulam continues to rehab his fractured patella. 

Roma: Diego Perotti has missed the last two games due to an ankle sprain and he is unlikely to recover this week, while Kevin Strootman has slightly more chances to return from a rib contusion. Stephan El Shaarawy and Kostas Manolas have some nicks and bruises. Juan Jesus is suspended. Gregoire Defrel and Rick Karsdorp will probably be available only next season.

Lazio:  Ciro Immobile suffered a hamstring (biceps femoris) strain and will try to play in the final game against Inter. Stefan Radu and Marco Parolo are dealing with hamstring pulls and they will not play. Luis Alberto is fatigued.

Inter: Danilo D’Ambrosio and Matias Vecino are disqualified, Roberto Gagliardini still out with a hamstring strain.

Atalanta: Mattia Caldara is suspended. Andrea Petagna has sports hernia but will try to play through it and get surgery in the offseason. Luca Rizzo, Filippo Melegoni and Alessandro Bastoni are dinged up but they could be available. Leonardo Spinazzola is close to returning from a knee sprain, but it is still unsure whether he will be called up this week.

Milan:  Alessio Romagnoli has recovered from a hamstring strain, while Lucas Biglia and Andrea Conti remain sidelined.

Sampdoria:  Duvan Zapata has slowed down in his recovery from muscle fatigue after positive signs earlier in the week and will not be called out. Fabio Quagliarella and Gianluca Caprari are in better shape after their injuries, but still iffy. Ricky Alvarez will be out with a sprained anke. Nicola Murru is out with a knee sprain.

Fiorentina:  Vincent Laurini is suspended, Vitor Hugo is out with a hamstring strain and Simone Lo Faso with a foot fracture.

Torino: Antonio Barreca is available after a hamstring strain, Joel Obi is not for a similar issue. Emiliano Moretti is suspended. Lyanco is rehabbing his troublesome foot in Brazil.

Genoa:  Nicolas Spolli is set to return from a hamstring ailment, while Diego Laxalt could miss another game due to bursitiis. Luca Rigoni has a sore knee and is likely to be held out. His backup Francesco Migliore has sports hernia. Armando Izzo is having a tough time shaking off a calf strain, while Pedro Pereira has an ankle sprain.

Bologna: all sorts of injuries for the Felsinei. Blerin Dzemaili is fatigued, Giancarlo Gonzalez and Godfred Donsah are out with knee sprains, Filip Helander with a cracked ribcage and Erick Pulgar due to a hamstring contracture. Mattia Destro should return after experiencing some knee soreness. Riccardo Orsolini is questionable.

SassuoloStefano Sensi resumed practicing with the rest of the group after a thigh pull, while Edoardo Goldaniga is a little more behind in his recovery. Pol Lirola is out with a meniscus tear. Davide Biondini is banged up.

Udinese: Gabriele Angella continues to deal with a calf injury.

Crotone: Federico Ceccherini is fatigued but might be available. Ahmad Benali and Ante Budimir remain out with foot factures.

Cagliari: Leandro Castan and Luca Cigarini are suspended. Fabio Pisacane, Filippo Romagna, Daniele Dessena and Sienna Miangue are all trying to recover from thigh issues. Dessena is the most likely to recover. Damir Ceter is out with a tendon tear in his hamstring.

Spal: Manuel Lazzari suffered a MCL sprain and he is done for the season. Same for Alex Meret, who has some ligament damage in his shoulder. Pasquale Schiattarella is bothered by a bad ankle, but will be called up, same for Bartosz Salamon. Sergio Floccari (flu), Federico Viviani (calf) and Sauli Vaisanen (Achilles) have been ruled out, Marco Borriello continues to battle with a calf edema. 

Chievo: Riccardo Meggiorini got a knock on the calf in practice, but he should be available.

Verona: Mattia Valoti suffered a hamstring (biceps femoris) strain and will probably miss the last three games. Moise Kean will not be risked even though he is almost ready after a serious hamstring strain. Marcel Buchel has an achy knee, while Nicolas got hit in the thigh. Mattia Bianchetti and Mattio Zaccagni are out with serious injuries.

Benevento: Enrico Brignola and Danilo Cataldi are suspended. Filip Djuricic suffered a strain and will have a tough time return this season. Alin Tosca is banged up but could play, same for Christian Puggioni. Guilherme is on the shelf due to a knee sprain, Ledjan Memushaj (ankle), Marco D’Alessandro (knee) and Andrea Costa have missed a lot of time. Cristiano Lombardi is dealing with an undisclosed injury, Billong with a stomach bug.
