Serie A Injury Report – Round 8

Juventus: Sami Khedira got hurt again in the few minutes he played in Champions League and will undergo tests on Friday. Daniele Rugani has a fractured rib and will miss the Udinese game. Mattia De Sciglio has a chance to return to the squad list after a second hamstring problem. Douglas Costa will serve the final match of his suspension.

Napoli: Mario Rui is disqualified. Faouzi Ghoulam and Amin Younes could return after the break from their kneecap fracture and Achilles tear, while the recovery of Alex Meret from an arm fracture has had few setbacks and his timetable is uncertain.

Roma: Javier Pastore is expected to be sidelined because of his latest calf ailment. Diego Perotti should return from a hamstring one, while Daniele De Rossi is questionable because of a sore meniscus. Kostas Manolas should be okay after catching the flu. Aleksandar Kolarov has been ruled because of the fractured pinkie toe he has been playing on.

Inter:  Sime Vrsaljko was called up for the PSV tilt so he has recovered from some prolonged knee soreness. Marcelo Brozovic has been ruled out late because of a muscular issue. 

Lazio: Riza Durmisi hurt his elbow in Europa League and will need some tests. Jordan Lukaku has been dealing with knee tendinopathy since the summer.

Milan: Gonzalo Higuain started against Olympiacos, so he has shaken off his hamstring problem. Patrick Cutrone still has a bad ankle, but he is able to play through it. Mattia Caldara should be held out again by a groin and back injury.

Atalanta: Andrea Masiello could be able to return from a hamstring issue, while Arkdadiusz Reca is questionable because of a similar problem.

Fiorentina:  Marco Benassi subbed off last week because of a knock on the ankle and he is questionable. Kevin Mirallas will be sidelined by an ankle sprain.

Torino: Lorenzo De Silvestri has not been called up because of a contracture, but he avoided a major hamstring injury. Lyanco (foot) and Cristian Ansaldi (knee sprain) remain out.

Sampdoria: Gregoire Defrel bowed out against SPAL because of an ankle issue, but it is not believed to be a serious problem and he might be available this week. Riccardo Saponara remains sidelined by a hamstring strain.

Sassuolo:  Alfred Duncan has missed time with a muscular problem and remains iffy. Federico Peluso has never played so far.

Genoa: Davide Biraschi fractured a finger, but he could play with a brace. Gianluca Lapadula could return to the squad list after missing few games, while Esteban Rolon and Lisandro Lopez will be available after the break because of muscular injuries.

Chievo: Emanuele Giaccherini subbed off against Torino and is at risk for this weekend. Fabrizio Cacciatore suffered a calf problem in practice. Filip Djordjevic clashed with an opponent in the last game and he is questionable as well. Joel Obi has a sore knee. Neither of this four player has been called up.

Udinese: Rodrigo De Paul was hit on the ankle in practice but he is fine, Andrija Balic is questionable because of the hamstring injury that sidelined him for a couple of weeks.

Bologna: Andrea Poli and Rodrigo Palacio are not expected back this week from their calf and hamstring strains. They and Filip Helander (knee sprain) will return after the break, while Godfred Donsah (fibula fracture) should be in the squad list this week.

Cagliari: Luca Ceppitelli is ready to return from a calf strain, while Ragnar Klavan has a sore Achilles and has been ruled out. Diego Farias is banged up.

SPAL: Federico Viviani will miss another one because of a calf strain. Kevin Bonifazi is fatigued.

Empoli: Afriyie Acquah could be called up this week after recovering from a hamstring strain. Manuel Pasqual will remain on the shelf because of an eye trauma, Luca Antonelli due to a severe calf strain. Levan Mchedlidze is banged up and will miss the game.

Parma: injuries continue to ravage the Ducali as Gervinho suffered a hamstring strain and Federico Dimarco an abdominal myotendinous junction tear of the abdominal muscles. It is not certain that they will recover for the first game after the break. Roberto Inglese is doubtful because of a thigh hematoma, Riccardo Gagliolo has some muscle fatigue. Alberto Grassi (calf) remains on the shelf. Federico Sierralta suffered a high degree hamstring (rectus femoris) strain and will miss six-to-eight weeks. Matteo Scozzarella could return after a lenghty absence.

Frosinone: Emil Hallfredsson and Stipe Perica have been called up despite their recent ailments, while Raffaele Maiello (calf) and Joaquin Ardaiz (thigh) have not. Marco Capuano is out with a hamstring pull.
