Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 22

Juventus: Giorgio Chiellini suffered a calf pull that should force him to miss a couple of games. Miralem Pjanic and Sami Khedira returned in Coppa Italia, while Mario Mandzukic (ankle) is expected to be available this week. Emre Can is ill but available.

Napoli: Fabian Ruiz is suspended. Raul Albiol and Elseid Hysaj are fatigued, while Adam Younes is banged up: the first two have called up, the winger has not.

Inter: Matteo Politano was slapped with a two-game ban. Stefan De Vrij is dealing with some muscle fatigue, but he has been called up, while Balde Keita remains out. 

Milan: Lucas Biglia and Mattia Caldara are getting closer, but they are out again this week. Pepe Reina has missed some time with a calf strain. Cristian Zapata is out with with a thigh one.

Roma: Steven Nzonzi and Bryan Cristante are disqualified and Diego Perotti and Cengiz Under will not come back this week from their muscular injuries.

Sampdoria: Dennis Praet is banned, while Edgar Barreto (thigh) and Jacopo Sala (gluteus) will skip another one with their ailments. Marco Sau had a knee problem in Cagliari.

Atalanta: Josip Ilicic subbed off against Juventus due to a hip contusion and might have troubles playing this week.

Lazio: Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is suspended, while Patric is fatigued. Wallace has a thigh ailment that will be assessed shortly. Joaquin Correa was seen limping after the cup game, but he should be able to recover. Ciro Immobile and Luis Alberto are a little fatigued.

Fiorentina: Marco Benassi will serve a two-game suspension. Vitor Hugo suffered an adductor injury in a cup game and is slated to be on the mend for at least a couple of weeks.

Torino:  Koffi Djidji has suffered a mild knee sprain and is questionable for the next game.

Sassuolo: Stefano Sensi is trying to shake off an ankle sprain and should be at his coach’s disposal, while Francesco Magnanelli subbed off from the last match with a thigh pull that will be sideline him this week.

Parma: Leo Stulac will return from an ankle sprain, while Luca Rigoni will stay out with the same problem.

Genoa: Andrea Favilli’s thigh strain might be worse than anticipated and he could be out for a month. Esteban Rolon is suspended.

SPAL: Francesco Vicari shook off a thigh problem, Pasquale Schiattarella is fatigued and Lorenzo Dickmann has a bruised hip: they are all available. Andrea Petagna is banned.

Cagliari: Nicolò Barella is suspended. Filip Bradaric and Alberto Cerri are both expected to remain out with their thigh injuries, while Fabrizio Cacciatore spent a long time on the shelf in Chievo due to a calf strain and he has not solved that issue yet.

Udinese: Lukasz Teodorczyk is on his way to a full recovery from sports hernia and is part of the squad list. Antonin Barak continues to be hampered by a back injury.

Empoli: Rade Krunic broke his hand, but he might play with a brace. Antonino La Gumina missed the last two matches with a thigh strain and might not be ready yet. Domenico Maietta and Leonardo Capezzi: the defender has been called up, the midfielder has not.

Bologna:  Filip Helander and Federico Mattiello are disqualified, while Blerin Dzemaili is trying to come back from a calf strain. Nicola Sansone is dinged up and unavailable.

Frosinone: Francesco Cassata is suspended. Lorenzo Ariaudo, Francesco Zampano, Edoardo Goldaniga and Nicolò Brighenti all recently missed time with minor muscular issues: Goldaniga and Zampano have a shot to be back on Monday. Paolo Ghiglione and Stefan Simic got hurt as well and the right back has been diagnosed with a tendinous tear that will sideline him for a month.

Chievo: Nenad Tomovic suffered an adductor longus strain and could be out for three-to-four weeks. Marco Andreolli was dealing with a knee sprain in his final days in Cagliari and he remains out. Manuel Pucciarelli has recovered from his knee problem. Fabio Depaoli and Mehdi Leris have not been called up.
