Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 23

Juventus: Federico Bernardeschi will be good to go after leaving the last game with a chest injury. On the other hand, Douglas Costa is iffy due to a bruised quad and Leonardo Spinazzola has a sore ankle. Giorgio Chiellini (calf) will be out again, while Leonardo Bonucci (ankle) is making a late push to be in the squad list.

Napoli: Amin Younes is having troubles with the surgically repaired Achilles tendon. Raul Albiol is reportedly dealing with a patellar tendon issue that could turn out to be a very serious one.

Inter: Matteo Politano will serve the final game of his suspension. Balde Keita has been called up despite the coach saying that he is not ready. Borja Valero is out with knee soreness.

Sime Vrsaljko is out indefinitely and should soon undergo season-ending knee surgery.

Milan: Lucas Biglia has resumed practicing fully and might be called up this week, while Mattia Caldara (Achilles) and Cristian Zapata (thigh) are set to sit one more out.

Atalanta: no issues for Gian Piero Gasperini since Josip Ilicic has been able to play last week. Marco Varnier is still recovering from an ACL tear.

Roma:  Lorenzo Pellegrini is suspended. Cengiz Under (thigh) and Diego Perotti (calf) are unlikely to be back this week from their muscular problems, while Juan Jesus is nursing a meniscus injury. Robin Olsen (calf) and Kostas Manolas (groin) will not be avialable. 

Lazio: Marco Parolo is disqualified. Ciro Immobile missed some practice time and he will at best be on the bench tonight, while there is optimism both Luis Alberto and Joaquin Correa will be able to play. They are all dealing with minor thigh ailments. Luiz Felipe might return after a thigh strain, while Jordan Lukaku (knee) and Wallace will be on the sidelines.

Sampdoria: Nicola Murru is suspended. Jacopo Sala (calf) and Marco Sau (knee) have a chance to be called up this week, while Edgar Barreto will stay out. Dennis Praet is under the weather, but should be able to shake it off by Sunday.

Fiorentina: Marco Benassi and Nikola Milenkovic are suspended. Vitor Hugo returned super quickly from a thigh strain, while Vincent Laurini is out with a toe injury.

Torino: Nicolas N’Koulou and Simone Zaza are suspended. Koffi Djidji is making progress in his recovery from a knee sprain, while Vittorio Parigini is set to be on the mend due to a thigh problem.

Sassuolo: Alfred Duncan is suspended, while Stefano Sensi (quad) and Francesco Magnanelli (thigh) should be both good to guy for the Juventus clash. Marlon remains out with a muscular injury.

Parma:  Luca Rigoni is set to return after missing time with an ankle sprain. Federico Dimarco suffered an abdomen strain.

Genoa: Cristian Romero is disqualified and Luca Mazzitelli and Andrea Favilli (thigh) will not return this week. Daniel Bessa is banged up.

SPAL: Mo Fares and Felipe are suspended. Pasquale Schiattarella is a little banged up.

Cagliari: Valter Birsa fractured the ulna and the radium in his left forearm and will be on the shelf for a while. Cyril Thereau pulled his thigh and will miss this week’s match, while Filip Bradaric and Alberto Cerri might be back from a similar issue. Fabrizio Cacciatore is still nursing a calf strain.

Udinese: Jens Larsen is banged up but he should be out there, while Sandro (thigh) and Antonin Barak (back) and also Valon Behrami (thigh) will miss Sunday’s game. Svante Ingelsson returns after a lenghty rehab.

Empoli: Antonino La Gumina (thigh), Leonardo Capezzi (thigh) and Barlomiej Dragowski have not been called up.

Bologna: Lyanco suffered a hip strain and will miss a game or two. Nicola Sansone and Federico Santander are both dealing with muscle fatigue and their availability is in question. Blerin Dzemaili should return from a calf injury. Riccardo Orsolini has suffered a calf strain and will miss about three weeks.

Frosinone: Lorenzo Ariaudo, Nicolò Brighenti and Stefan Simic are slated to skip another one. Andrea Pinamonti has a persistent flu that might limit him on Sunday.

Chievo: Sergio Pellissier pulled his thigh and will miss 10/15 days. Fabio Depaoli should be back, while Marco Andreolli remain questionable due to an ankle sprain.
