Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 25

Juventus: Sami Khedira underwent a heart ablation with an arrhythmogenic atrial focus and will miss a minimum of one month. Emre Can is suspended. Douglas Costa remains questionable with the quad injury that has forced to skip the last few games.

Napoli: Lorenzo Insigne is disqualified, while Mario Rui has slim chances to return from a thigh pull.

Inter: Mauro Icardi took some tests this week, which revealed no structural damage on his achy knee, but he is still poised to be unavailable this week amid the standoff with the managament. Balde Keita is having a hard time shaking off a thigh strain.

Milan: Suso is banned and neither among their injured players, Pepe Reina, Mattia Caldara and Cristian Zapata, has made the squad list.

Roma: Cengiz Under is getting closer but he has been ruled out by the coach. Rick Karsdorp and Patrik Schick need more time to recuperate from similar problems.

Atalanta: Alejandro Gomez is very fatigued and could be spared for next week’s Coppa Italia tilt. Marten De Roon is suspended.

Fiorentina: Federico Ceccherini subbed off because of a thigh ailment last week, but it was a minor one and he will be at his coach’s disposal. Kevin Mirallas is not far away from returning from a calf strain.

Torino: Tomas Rincon in suspended and Koffi Djidji will be be on the shelf again with a knee sprain.

Sampdoria: Karol Linetty is banned, while Jakub Jankto seems slated to come back after missing one. Edgar Barreto and Gaston Ramirez are likely to be on the mend this week as well.

Sassuolo: Domenico Berardi is disqualified.

Parma: Alessandro Bastoni is dealing with an unspecified knee problem, while Leo Stulac has a sprained knee and Matteo Scozzarella a calf issue. They are all likely to be on the mend.

Genoa: Stefano Sturaro and Luca Mazzitelli have an outside shot at being called up this week.

Cagliari: Joao Pedro is suspended. Luca Pellegrini subbed off last week, but avoided any significant knee injury. Filippo Romagna and Kiril Despodov are iffy because of a sore patellar tendon and back pain, while Cyril Thereau (thigh), Valter Birsa (forearm) and Alberto Cerri (thigh) are unlikely to return from the injuries that have kept them on the sidelines in recent weeks. Fabrizio Cacciatore is close to a full recovery from a calf injury, Paolo Faragò should be fine after dealing with some muscle fatigue.

SPAL: Manuel Lazzari will miss the next game because of a thigh pull but all in all the injury is not too severe. Pasquale Schiattarella is suspended.

Empoli: Luca Antonelli has been ruled out with a thigh strain, while Leonardo Capezzi is in the squad list after missing time with the same problem.

Bologna: Mattia Destro picked up a thigh strain, Federico Mattiello an abdomen one and they will be both out this week. Riccardo Orsolini (calf), Lyanco (hip) and Giancarlo Gonzalez (thigh) have resumed practicing regularly and could be available. Rodrigo Palacio is fatigued.

Frosinone: Lorenzo Ariaudo (ankle), Stefan Simic (calf) and Paolo Ghiglione (thigh) are primed to remain on the shelf like in previous matches.

Chievo: Fabio Depaoli and Emanuele Giaccherini are suspended. Sergio Pellissier and Nenad Tomovic seem poised to miss another one with their thigh strain.
