Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 32

Juventus: Blaise Matuidi subbed off against Ajax due to a calf problem, but the injury is not believed to be severe. Emre Can (ankle) and Giorgio Chiellini (calf) will sit Saturday’s game too but they are not distant from returning. Juan Cuadrado is back after knee surgery, while Douglas Costa suffered a new calf problem. Miralem Pjanic, Mario Mandzukic and Cristiano Ronaldo have not been called up for rest purposes.

Napoli: Simone Verdi was scatched late for the previous match due to muscle fatigue, but he was called up for the London trip. Raul Albiol (knee) and Amadou Diawara will miss another one, but at least of them could be back next week.

Inter: Marcelo Brozovic suffered a pull of the semitendinosus muscle in the right pull and will miss the Frosinone game and perhaps one more after that. Lautaro Martinez and Stefan De Vrij are set to be called up after being sidelined by thigh ailments.

Milan: Gianluigi Donnarumma is unlikely to come back this week from a thigh strain, while Lucas Paquetà will likely need a couple of more weeks for his high ankle sprain. Andrea Conti has solid chances to make the squad list after going down with a thigh issue.

Atalanta: Josip Ilicic is dealing with a bothersome knee that limited him last week too. He might tough it out and play at less than 100 percent though. Rafael Toloi is doubtful due to an ankle inflammation.

Roma: Aleksandar Kolarov is suspended. Rick Karsdorp and Davide Santon will both miss up to a month due to biceps femoris strains, while Alessandro Florenzi is primed to be available after being on the shelf with a calf one. Javier Pastore has been called up too, like Cengiz Under, who had some back pain prior to the last game, and Daniele De Rossi, who was knocked on the knee, and Diego Perotti, who dealt with muscle fatigue for a while.

Lazio: Adam Marusic has a thigh contracture that will hold him out this week and he will joined by Stefano Radu who had a reoccurrence of his ankle sprain. Milan Badelj is disqualified. Valon Berisha is rumoured to have suffered a knee injury that could force him to have surgery and end the season early.

Torino: Andrea Belotti is suspended and Iago Falque is not expected to return from an MCL sprain in this or the next round.

Sampdoria: Albin Ekdal is set to be available after skipping the last three games with a bruised knee and Gianluca Caprari had made strides in his recovery from a fibula fracture and has a chance to be called up.

Fiorentina: Edimilson Fernandes remains questionable with the thigh injury had has prevented him from playing in the last few fixtures, but he has better chances than last week.

Sassuolo: Claud Adjapong is trying to shake off an ankle sprain, while Marlon needs more time to come back from his thigh strain.

Cagliari: Luca Ceppitelli is suspended. Fabrizio Cacciatore suffered a thigh ailment this week and he is questionable.

Parma: Gervinho is close to recovering from a thigh injury and could be called up, like Mattia Sprocati who experienced the issue earlier this week. On the other hand, Bruno Alves (calf) and Roberto Inglese (ankle) are expected to sit another one.

Genoa: Stefano Sturaro was sent off last week, but no further issues for Cesare Prandelli.

Udinese: Marvin Zeegelaar is suspended. Ignacio Pussetto was limited in practice by an unspecified injury, Nicholas Opoku due to a knee conclusion. Bram Nuytinck (thigh) is not slated to be back this week.

SPAL: Jasmin Kurtic is fatigued, while Mattia Valoti has a sore knee and they will miss the Saturday game, like Marko Jankovic (thigh),  who missed the last match. Vasco Regini (hip) is questionable.

Bologna: Simone Edera should return after being out with a bruised shoulder, while Filip Helander (ankle), Mattia Destro (thigh strain) and Federico Mattiello (hip strain) are not ready to play.

Empoli: they have lost Matias Silvestre and Marko Pajac for some time to thigh injuries. Domenico Maietta is suspended. Cristiano Dell’Orco should be able to return from a thigh issue, while Afriyie Acquah is questionable for a calf one. Salih Ucan (thigh) and Kevin Diks (knee) will stay out of commission.

Frosinone: Bartosz Salamon has suffered a significant thigh injury that could cost him up to six weeks. Mirko Gori should come back from an ankle sprain, while Lorenzo Ariaudo and Paolo Sammarco are close to recuperating from muscular ailments. Federico Viviani remain on the mend with a thigh injury, while Luca Paganini is iffy because of the flu.

Chievo: Pawel Jaroszynski and Riccardo Meggiorini were out last week with undisclosed problems. Mattia Bani is suspended.
