Juventus considering bringing back Buffon

Yesterday night, few outlets broke the news about Gianluigi Buffon possibly coming back to Juventus a year after his departure and his agent Silvano Martina promptly addressed the matter to Sportmediaset: “It would be nice if such opportunity materialized. It is possible that the Bianconeri have considered him if Mattia Perin left. He is 42 but he is still fine physically, he likes to play and challenge himself. If there will be this opportunity, I am sure he will evaluate it with pleasure. We have not reached any agreement yet. It is just a thought, we would have never believed it could be in the cards. I have heard that he would be the second highest paid player behind Cristiano Ronaldo, but that it is nonsense. It would be a pleasant operation if it went through, but it is only at its preliminary stages.”

Buffon collected 25 appearances with PSG last season, splitting time with Alphonse Areola on goal, conceding 25 goals and keeping nine clean sheets. At the beginning of June, the legendary goalkeeper announced that he turned down the extension offered by the French club and that he would therefore leave as free agent.

Rodrigo Bentancur further elaborated on his recent extension while talking to Tuttomercatoweb: “I have played a lot more last season, at one point I have started in 16/17 games in a row between Juventus and the national team, I have grown a lot physically and in terms of quickness of execution and pace. I think I will continue to improve there. I try to take advantage of every opportunity I get to feature with Uruguay, I feel great and I hope to keep it up for the whole duration of the Copa America.”

Juventus launched the new campaign to renew or buy the season tickets and, as it has constantly happened over the last few years, the prices increased again, this time by an average of 11%. The cheapest ones, in the Curvas, cost €650, while the most expensive, in the East central gallery €2370, which are also those that augmented the most (15%). The spike is inferior compared to last season, when they grew by 30%. The fares have more than doubled compared to when the Stadium opened in 2012, Calcio e Finanza reports.

According to a graphic put out by the League, the match between Milan and Juventus in the 12th round was the most watched on TV last season with 2.77M viewers.
