Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 19

Atalanta: a clean bill of health for the Goddess, but Musa Barrow and Roger Ibanez have not been called up because they are about to transfer.

Bologna: Blerin Dzemaili will be back after missing one with the flu, Ladislav Krejci is inching closer to recovering from a knee bruise. Gary Medel suffered a hamstring strain and will miss three weeks. Stefano Denswil has been ruled out. 

Brescia: Andrea Cistana and Sandro Tonali are suspended. Alfredo Donnarumma and Emanuele Ndoj are expected to return after skipping one with muscular ailments. Daniele Dessena is almost ready after a malleolous fracture.

Cagliari: Fabrizio Cacciatore picked up a thigh problem that will force him to sit out the upcoming game, likewise Federico Mattiello. Luca Ceppitelli (foot) has yet to be cleared, while Alessio Cragno, even if he is not ready to play yet, has been called up for the first time since offseason shoulder surgery. 

Fiorentina: Franck Ribery (ankle) is the only absentee.

Genoa: Lukas Lerager is available after a groin injury, Andrea Pinamonti after a ribs one.

Inter: Nicolò Barella and Milan Skriniar are out due to yellow-card accumulation. Danilo D’Ambrosio is not ready to come back from a hamstring problem. Kwadwo Asamoah it out again with his achy knee.

Juventus: Rodrigo Bentancur is disqualified for two more matches. Gonzalo Higuain is slightly fatigued, Matthijs De Ligt has been available over the last few games but was limited by a shoulder and hamstring issue.

Lazio: Marco Parolo is suspended. Senad Lulic and Jony quickly shook off ankle sprains, while Joaquin Correa (calf) and Adam Marusic (thigh) are in danger of missing the Napoli game.

Lecce: Gianluca Lapadula and Khouma Babacar will play through their ailments, instead Zan Majer (ankle), Andrea Tabanelli, Diego Farias, Marco Calderoni, Yevhen Shakhov and Giannelli Imbula have been ruled out. 

Milan: Lucas Biglia will likely skip another one with a thigh issue. Ricardo Rodriguez (hamstring) and Ante Rebic (back) injuries could be a little diplomatic.

Napoli: Dries Mertens is in Belgium to undergo specific therapies on his injured hammy. Kalidou Koulibaly, Faouzi Ghoulam and Nikola Maksimovic remain sidelined with similar issues, Amin Younes is out because of the flu, Alex Meret with an undisclosed injury. 

Parma: Antonino Barillà is suspended. Gervinho is unlikely to play meaningful minutes even should he pull off a last-minute recovery from a thigh strain. Bruno Alves is dealing with back pain.

Roma: Nicolò Zaniolo got knocked on the thigh in the last game but he will bite the bullet. Henrikh Mkhitaryan suffered a hamstring strain and could miss up to a month. Federico Fazio (thigh), Justin Kluivert (thigh), Javier Pastore (hip) and Davide Santon (hamstring) stay on the shelf. Bryan Cristante could be back in the squad list. Leonardo Spinazzola has been under the weather this week.

Sampdoria: Omar Colley and Fabio Depaoli are suspended. Gaston Ramirez is iffy due to a knee sprain, but they could get back Andrea Bertolacci and Edgar Barreto following muscular injuries.

Sassuolo: Domenico Berardi was hit with a two-game suspension, Manuel Locatelli will skip one after his fifth yellow card. Alfred Duncan picked up a thigh issue and he is questionable, like Rogerio, who has a sore foot. Gregoire Defrel and Vlad Chiriches have yet to go into full training, instead it will be a while before Marlon (hamstring) is back.

SPAL: Francesco Vicari subbed off last week but should be ready to go, while Nenad Tomovic is suspended. Arkadiusz Reca (quad) continues to practice on the side.

Torino: Cristian Ansaldi will miss some time with a calf strain and Daniele Baselli is not ready to return from his knee sprain. Iago Falque looks poised to be available after six weeks on the mend due to a thigh injury, while Simone Edera and Vittorio Parigini are again iffy due to minor muscular ailments.

Udinese: Samir is the only unavailable player following a meniscus removal.

Verona: Alan Empereur is nursing a thigh strain, Eddy Salcedo is working his way back from knee clean-up surgery, while Daniel Bessa (thigh) remains without a timetable.
