Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 20

Atalanta: Hans Hateboer is suspended, while Timothy Castagne missed the midweek Coppa Italia game with knee soreness, but it was likely just precautionary.

Bologna: Stefano Denswil remains iffy after missing one with a thigh ailment and it will likely be a couple more weeks before Ladislav Krejci comes back from his knee problem.

Brescia: Dimitri Bisoli is disqualified. Daniele Dessena is close to being fully cleared from his malleolus fracture.

Cagliari: Luca Ceppitelli (foot), Fabizio Cacciatore and Federico Mattiello (hamstring) stay on the shelf and are joined by Lucas Castro due to dings and bruises. 

Fiorentina: Kevin-Prince Boateng was held out of the last Coppa Italia match due to a bruised knee, but he might give it a go on Saturday.

Genoa: Domenico Criscito is suspended and Cristian Zapata picked up a small thigh injury that will likely sideline him this week.

Inter: Kwadwo Asamoah (knee) and Danilo D’Ambrosio (hamstring) are poised to stay on the shelf with the problems that affected them recently. Matias Vecino and Roberto Gagliardini (foot) were late scratches, Matteo Politano and Ashley Young will not be available. 

Juventus: Rodrigo Bentancur will serve the final game of his suspension. Cristiano Ronaldo skipped the Udinese match due to sinusitis but he will most likely be back for the weekend. Mattia De Sciglio instead will probably sit out another one with an adductor pull. Merih Demiral tore an ACL and a meniscus last Sunday and his season is over.

Lazio: Senad Lulic is suspended. Joaquin Correa is likely to skip another one due to a calf issue. Denis Vavro could be available after nursing knee sprain for a month, while Adam Marusic (thigh) and Jordan Lukaku (knee) are more uncertain. Danilo Cataldi will miss some time with a calf problem.

Lecce: Zan Majer is on track to be available after being sidelined by an ankle sprain, while Marco Calderoni could be out again with the same issue. Diego Farias, Filippo Falco and Yevhen Shakhov are dealing with undisclosed problems.

Milan: Hakan Calhanoglu and Mateo Musacchio could not play on Wednesday due to a calf and ankle ailment respectively and have not been able to recover. Gianluigi Donnarumma picked up a contracture in Cagliari tilt and he will be a game-time call. Davide Calabria will probably miss one with an ankle sprain, joining Lucas Biglia (hamstring).

Napoli: Mario Rui is suspended. Kalidou Koulibaly and Nikola Maksimovic will be out again with hamstring problems. Alex Meret has a sore hip that might cost him the second straight match. Dries Mertens returned from Belgium but he is going to be on the mend a little longer due to a muscular injury.

Parma: Yann Karamoh indicated that it will take him one more month to be back from high ankle sprain.

Roma: Aleksandar Kolarov and Alessandro Florenzi are out due to yellow-card accumulation. Justin Kluivert and Davide Santon returned midweek after lengthy absences. Federico Fazio (thigh), Henrikh Mkhitaryan (thigh) and Javier Pastore (hip) will likely skip another one. Nicolò Zaniolo ruptured the ACL and a meniscus in the right knee against Juventus. Diego Perotti has been ruled out for a trauma. 

Sampdoria: Andrea Bertolacci and Edgar Barreto should be ready to contribute after thigh strains, Gaston Ramirez has a muscular problem in the back of his knee and he is iffy, Fabio Depaoli is very likely to be on the stands again with an ankle sprain.

Sassuolo: Domenico Berardi won his appeal and will be available Saturday. Gregoire Defrel (ankle) and Vlad Chiriches (hamstring) are getting closer but it is not certain yet they will be ready this week, while Alfred Duncan and Alessandro Tripaldelli could miss their second match in a row. Gianmarco Ferrari turned his ankle in practice and will miss significant time, per the coach. 

SPAL: Andrea Petagna was fatigued midweek but he will probably be out there over the weekend. Nenad Tomovic suffered an ankle injury versus Milan, Felipe an eye one in the last Serie A fixture and they are undergoing further evaluations.

Torino: Daniele Baselli and Lyanco resumed practicing in full following their knee sprains and they could be in the squad list this week, Iago Falque should be good to go as well, while Cristian Ansaldi (calf) and Simone Zaza (thigh) might need another week. Koffi Djidji sustained a muscular ailment that could sideline him.

Udinese: Samir (meniscus removal) is the only injured player.

Verona: Alan Empereur is back from a hamstring strain, while Daniel Bessa (thigh) and Eddy Salcedo (knee) will not return this week.
