Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 22

Atalanta: Josip Ilicic is dealing with some thigh soreness but there is optimism it is nothing serious. Timothy Castagne resumed practicing after some knee pain and Lennart Czyborra is available as well following a contracture. Tomas Sutalo will miss time with a navicular bone edema. 

Bologna: Takehiro Tomiyasu is suspended. Nicola Sansone should be fine after some muscle fatigue and Stefano Denswil is on track to return from a thigh problem. Gary Medel (thigh) and Ladislav Krejci (knee) are poised to remain on the shelf.

Brescia: Mario Balotelli will finish serving his two-game suspension.

Cagliari: Fabrizio Cacciatore is expected to be back from muscle fatigue, while Daniele Ragatzu (tonsillitis), Marko Rog and Luca Ceppitelli (foot) will be sidelined again.

Fiorentina: Martin Caceres and Nikola Milenkovic are disqualified. Gaetano Castrovilli has been ruled out as he is undergoing tests due to a head injury.

Genoa: Cristian Zapata (thigh) re-joined the rest of the group in full training earlier this week. Lukas Lerager (groin) is slated to be out for ten more days.

Inter: Lautaro Martinez and Tommaso Berni were handed two-game bans. Stefano Sensi and Borja Valero missed the midweek Coppa Italia bout due to muscular ailments and will stay on the shelf, like Roberto Gagliardini (foot). Marcelo Brozovic will be available after an ankle sprain, Kwadwo Asamoah following knee soreness. Samir Handanovic is questionable with a finger injury. 

Juventus: Mattia De Sciglio has recovered from a thigh injury. Miralem Pjanic subbed off last week due to a knock on the ankle but should be out there on Sunday. Cristiano Ronaldo and Matthijs De Ligt were limited in practice for a couple of days, but it was only a precautionary move.

Lazio: Joaquin Correa pulled his calf and will have to sit for 10-15 days. Adam Marusic could be available following muscle fatigue. Patric has been ruled out with the flu. Senad Lulic, Luiz Felipe and Luis Alberto are banged up but should be out there

Lecce: Cristiano Dell’Orco is disqualified. Marco Calderoni has resumed practicing after an ankle sprain and has been called up. Gabriel is nursing back pain. Panagiotis Tachtsidis tweaked his knee in the last game and while, the exams ruled out significant damage, he will miss some time. Diego Farias and Khouma Babacar are out with muscular issues. Jacopo Petriccione is availble but at less than 100 percent. 

Milan: Ismael Bennacer is suspended. Lucas Biglia has not recover from a hamstring strain, while Mateo Musacchio has been called up despite a sore calf. Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Simon Kjaer are out because of the flu, Rade Krunic due to an undiclosed issue. Davide Calabria is back after an ankle injury. 

Napoli: Dries Mertens and Kalidou Koulibaly returned to full training after long absences caused by hamstring injuries. Allan skipped the last fixture due to a bruised knee and is not a lock for this week either.

Parma: Dejan Kulusevski strained a muscle in his hip and will skip a game or two. Luigi Sepe ruptured a tendon in his thigh and will be sidelined for one-to-three months and the fact that they added a new starting goalie is pretty ominous for his timetable. Matteo Scozzarella suffered a hamstring injury and will be out for two-to-three weeks. Antonino Barillà is available after missing one due to tendinopathy, Alberto Grassi has been called up but he has been ill throughout the week. Gervinho has been ruled out because he is likely to be sold. 

Roma: Henrikh Mkhitaryan (thigh) is getting closer but might not be back this week.

Sampdoria: Bartosz Bereszynski is suspended. Ronaldo Vieira is nursing a knee contusion. Fabio Depaoli remains iffy due to an ankle sprain.

Sassuolo: Gianmarco Ferrari and Gregoire Defrel have recovered from their ankle problems, Marlon from his thigh one. Hamed Traore was limited in practice this week, but he is available. Alessandro Tripaldelli underwent sports-hernia surgery and will be out for the foreseeable future. 

SPAL: Andrea Petagna and Mattia Valoti are banned due to yellow-card accumulation. Nenad Tomovic has a bruised foot, Thiago Cionek is out with plantar fasciitis.

Torino: Armando Izzo and Sasa Lukic were sent off last week. Cristian Ansaldi and Daniele Baselli are iffy again due to calf problems, while Bremer suffered one in Coppa Italia. Simone Edera sustained a muscular injury near his left knee.

Udinese: Samir returned on the pitch after his meniscus injury but it remains to be seen whether he will be called up.

Verona: Eddie Salcedo keeps rehabbing after knee surgery.
