This week’s La Liga game of the week saw Atletico Madrid trounce Sevilla at The Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán Stadium in a 5-2 thriller that means the second place side keep a semblance of pressure on league leaders Barcelona.
Having secured consecutive wins that had turned around a poor run of form that had seen them go from Champions League hopefuls to a side way off the pace of the league’s elite performers, Sevilla will have entered this tie with a renewed sense of belief.
And for the first half an hour this proved to be the case, the game being a tight affair between two competitive sides.
