Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 24

Atalanta: newcomer Tomas Sutalo is the only sidelined player, due to an edema in his right foot.

Bologna: Musa Barrow sprained his ankle and Riccardo Orsolini picked up a cut on the knee last week, but they both practiced fully in the last couple of days and should be a full go. Roberto Soriano instead is out due to a bruised thigh. No returns among their previously injured players: Nicola Sansone, Gary Medel, Federico Santander (thigh), Ladislav Krejci (knee) and Mitchell Dijks (foot).

Brescia: Ernestro Torregrossa, Sandro TonaliJesse Joronen, Andrea Cistana, Romulo and Daniele Gastadello are all unlikely to be available due to undisclosed injuries. 

Cagliari: Radja Nainggolan is suspended. Leonardo Pavoletti re-tore his left ACL and is out for the year, if not more. Luca Ceppitelli is ready to return after missing a lot of time with plantar fasciitis. Marko Rog is out again with a thigh strain. Paolo Faragò and Fabrizio Cacciatore both subbed off in the last game due to hamstring issues and are poised to miss at least one match, although the injuries are not overly serious.

Fiorentina: Alfred Duncan is set to be available following a thigh strain. Franck Ribery resumed working on the pitch after a significant ankle sprain and could be back in a month’s time.

Genoa: Cristian Romero tweaked his knee and has been ruled out. Paolo Ghiglione suffered a grade two biceps femoris strain in the hamstring and will miss four-to-six weeks. Lasse Schone bowed out of the last match but his issue is less severe, although he still might not play on Sunday. Lukas Lerager will remain on the shelf.

Inter: Samir Handanovic was on the bench in the last couple of fixtures, but he is unavailable due to a pinkie infraction and that will not change versus Lazio. Roberto Gagliardini continues to deal with a foot edema. Sebastiano Esposito pulled the rectus femoris in his right hamstring and will sit out at least one contest. Stefano Sensi has been ruled out with a foot injury. 

Juventus: Douglas Costa picked up another thigh strain and will be out for about three weeks, Danilo was called up for the midweek Coppa Italia bout after missing time with a hamstring strain. Federico Bernardeschi remains on the mend with a pulled calf. Cristiano Ronaldo will be rested, while Giorgio Chiellini is back in the squad list after six months. 

Lazio: Senad Lulic underwent arthroscopic surgery to clean up the left ankle and will be on the mend for four-to-six weeks. Bastos is questionable with a sore foot. 

Lecce: Panagiotis Tachtsidis and Gabriel resumed practicing fully after a knee sprain and back spasms and are available for Saturday. Filippo Falco and Marco Mancosu worked on the side to open the week but should be fine. Diego Farias will miss another one, while Khouma Babacar and Biagio Meccariello are out again.

Milan: Andrea Conti is suspended. Lucas Biglia sustained a right knee sprain with MCL damage and will be out of commission for at least a month, joining Leo Duarte (Achilles) and Rade Krunic (foot) on the shelf. Hakan Calhanoglu suffered a hip muscle strain and will miss a couple of weeks. 

Napoli: Lorenzo Insigne is available despite a sore knee, while the same issue will hold out Arkadiusz Milik. Kalidou Koulibaly is back on the shelf with the thigh problem that sidelined him recently. Allan has been excluded because of poor effort in practice. Alex Meret is questionable due to hip pain. Faouzi Ghoulam returns from a hamstring strain.

 

Parma: Dejan Kulusevki has not fully gotten past him hip muscle injury and will miss the upcoming game, like Juraj Kucka who suffered a thigh strian in practice. Antonino Barillà has been diagnosed with thigh flexor tendinopathy and will have to rest for at least three weeks. Matteo Scozzarella will miss two more matches with his hamstring issue. Luigi Sepe got positive news from a specialized visit on his thigh injury and could return in about a month. Gervinho has apologized and resumed practicing, so he should be re-instated in short order. Simone Iacoponi is dealing with an illness. 

Roma: Bryan Cristante was sent off last week. Antonio Mirante has a torn meniscus. Javier Pastore has a sore hip, something that already cost him time previously this season.

Sampdoria: Albin Ekdal is suspended, while Fabio Depaoli is poised to return from an ankle sprain.

Sassuolo: Hamed Traore rolled his ankle in practice and will be out for multiple weeks. Vlad Chiriches might make the squad list following a big thigh strain.

SPAL: Bryan Dabo pulled his right thigh in the last match and will skip one or two games, likewise Francesco Vicari, who is dealing with muscle fatigue. Alberto Cerri (thigh) remains sidelined.

Torino: Armando Izzo is disqualified. Daniele Baselli (calf) and Simone Zaza (thigh) are expected back from muscular problems, while Lorenzo De Silvestri should be good to go despite an ankle sprain. Simone Verdi is under the weather. 

Udinese: Samir is ready to return from meniscus surgery. Sebastien De Maio has been ruled out with a muscular injury. 

Verona: Emmanuel Badu has shaken off a wound on his tibia, while Eddie Salcedo is back from knee surgery. Giampaolo Pazzini picked up a calf strain, Samuel Di Carmine is out with muscle fatigue.
