Serie A Injury and Suspension Report – Round 34

Atalanta: Luis Muriel quickly resumed practicing after suffering a fortunately mild head injury in a domestic accident. Josip Ilicic will be held out as he keeps working on his fitness.

Bologna: Andrea Poli and Federico Santander were available for the last game after some time on the shelf. Mattia Bani (calf) is done for the season, Jerdy Schouten (thigh) will try to return for the final couple of matches.

Brescia: goalie Jesse Joronen is back, unlike Enrico Alfonso (hip). Andrea Cistana is ramping up his activity in practice and might be back soon. Emanuele Ndoj is back on the shelf.

Cagliari: Artur Ionita is suspended. Radja Nainggolan suffered a calf strain and will likely miss all the remaining matches. Chistian Oliva and Luca Pellegrini have some chances to return here from their ankle sprains.

Fiorentina: Bartlomiej Dragowski (back) and Dalbert (calf) were late scratches for the past game and they will have to be assessed ahead of the next one.

Genoa: Domenico Criscito played few minutes versus SPAL so he is past his calf problem, while Cristian Romero, Stefano Sturaro and Francesco Cassata where in the squad list but unusable. It could be the same situation here.

Inter: Romelu Lukaku (thigh) and Nicolò Barella (thigh) could be back here but that will be clearer only on Sunday. Stefano Sensi (thigh) might be able to play a game or two later on. Matias Vecino (knee) is unavailable.

Juventus: Federico Bernardeschi is suspended. Giorgio Chiellini subbed off against Sassuolo but did not pick a calf strain, but he is highly unlikely to play. Leonardo Bonucci sat out one with a bruised heel but he was at his coach’s disposal and will therefore return. Rodrigo Bentancur is banged up, but no strain for him either, while Matthijs De Ligt will probably play through a bad shoulder. Mattia De Sciglio keeps nursing a thigh injury.

Lazio: Patric got his ban reduced and this will be his final game on the stands. Bastos is fatigued but he might bite the bullet because Stefan Radu picked up a calf strain that will cost him the rest of the games. Adam Marusic is finishing off his recovery from a thigh strain. Joaquin Correa (knee) needs more time. Luis Alberto and Jony have been ruled out due to undiclosed injuries.

Lecce: Gianluca Lapadula (ankle) and Filippo Falco (knee) were called up against Fiorentina but it is unclear whether they are really ready to play. Diego Farias and Panagiotis Tachtsidis are fatigued. Biagio Meccariello is back from a knee tweak, while Marco Calderoni remains out with a contracture. Alessandro Deiola elected to have surgery on the left knee to clean up the cartilage and will return next season.

Milan: Lucas Paqueta missed the last game and had his knee checked on but it turned out to be just some soreness and he shook it off quickly. Samu Castillejo and Leo Duarte could be back from thigh injuries.

Napoli: Giovanni Di Lorenzo is disqualified. Amin Younes sat out one due to an undisclosed physical problem. Fernando Llorente remains sidelined. Kevin Malcuit was called up seven months after tearing his ACL.

Parma: Matteo Darmian and Alberto Grassi are suspended. Andrea Cornelius will miss some time with a thigh strain, Bruno Alves because of a hip contusion. Juraj Kucka could be back after dealing with some fatigue.

Roma: Federico Fazio (ankle) and Antonio Mirante (calf) were ruled out for the past game but their problems are believed to be minor. Chris Smalling is likely to return from a thigh issue. Juan Jesus and Davide Santon (calf) are doubtful. Nicolò Zaniolo picked up a calf problem that will likely cost him some time.

Sampdoria: Lorenzo Tonelli and Ronaldo Vieira are close to shaking off their knee problems.

Sassuolo: Domenico Berardi, Mehdi Bourabia and Francesco Magnanelli are suspended. Pedro Obiang and Gregoire Defrel are nursing thigh strain. Rogerio suffered a head injury in practice and he is being thoroughly evaluated.

SPAL: Mirko Valdifiori is banned. Mattia Valoti (thigh) and Mo Fares (thigh) are slated to be called up.

Torino: no problems other than Daniele Baselli’s ACL tear.

Udinese: Stefano Okaka is suspended, while Mato Jajalo and Lukas Teodorczyk sprained their knee and are taking some tests to assess the extent of the injuries.

Verona: Marash Kumbulla might be done for the season due to a biceps femoris strain. Claud Adjapong is on the mend with a thigh strain, Giampaolo Pazzini (thigh), Salvatore Bocchetti (knee) and Pawel Dawidowicz (pec) are instead recovering from smaller injuries, but they are again unavailable. Fabio Borini and Valentin Eysseric returned in the last game.
