Today, we concentrate on best-performing midfielders and forwards in Serie A this season. First up, let’s take a look the five best midfielders in Serie A so far this season. Surprisingly, there are no Juventus players on our list, but the likes of Napoli, Roma and AC Milan are represented in the list.

Napoli winger/midfielder Dries Mertens leads our list at the moment. The Belgium international has been in superb form this season and has scored 11 goals in 16 appearances. Out of those 16 appearances, he has started only on ten occasions. He has also participated in five clean-sheets for his side. The 29-year-old is valued at 8m and has accumulated 53 points. He has a very respectable P/P (Performance/Price) ratio of 7.1.

Another wide player occupies the second spot on our list. AS Roma’s Mohamed Salah is placed second on the list with 48 points. He has scored eight goals and provided four assists for his side in 16 appearances this season. However, he costs more than Mertens at 9.5m. His value also makes him the costliest player in our list. The former Chelsea star has a slightly inferior P/P ratio than Mertens at 5.3.

Napoli star Marek Hamsik completes the top three in our list. The Slovakian’s presence means that the Naples side are the only club to have more than one player on our list. The 29-year-old has picked up 45 points on the back of five goals and seven assists. He has also contributed in six clean sheets. He is available at 9m in the transfer market and has an almost identical P/P ratio to Salah at 5.2.

Next, we have a Turin-based player on our list, but he doesn’t play for Juventus. Iago Falque of Torino is the fourth-best midfielder in Serie this season as per our statistics. The left-winger, who is playing for the Turin club on loan from AS Roma, has scored eight goals and provided three assists in 15 appearances this season. His is available at a decent price of 7.5m, and his P/P value stands at 6.1.

The next name in our list is perhaps the most surprising one, given his market value. AC Milan midfielder Suso, who is one of the cheapest midfielders in the league at 2.5m, has picked up 43 points following some very impressive performances for Rossoneri this season. He has scored five goals and provided six assists for his side in 17 appearances. Due to his meagre price in the market, he has an extremely P/P ratio of 18. He is the one player on this list that every fantasy manager must have in his or her list.
