Best Serie A Strikers so far this season

Mauro Icardi

We will wrap up ‘Best of Serie A’ features by looking at the best strikers in the league this season so far. The 2016-17 season of Serie A has almost reached its half-way point, and we have already witnessed some standout striking performances in the first half of the season. The likes of Mauro Icardi and Gonzalo Higuain have made our list.

Take a detailed look at the top five strikers in Serie A this season so far.

Inter Milan star Mauro Icardi has been the best striker in Serie A so far this season. The Argentinian was involved in a dispute with Inter fans earlier this season, but he hasn’t let off-the-pitch distractions affect him. The 23-year-old has scored 14 goals and provided five assists in 18 starts for his club this season. His tally of 14 goals makes him the top goalscorer in Serie A this season. He is available for 10m and has a P/P value of 6.8.

Edin Dzeko of AS Roma occupies the second spot on our list. The Bosnian trails Icardi in the rankingS by 11 points. He has scored 16 goals and provided two assists in 18 appearances so far this season. He is slightly cheaper than Icardi with a price of 9m in the transfer market. The former Man City striker has a P/P value of 6.3, which is slightly less than that of Icardi’s.

Andrea Belotti of Torino is a surprise package in our list. The 23-year-old Italy international is placed third on our list with 53 points. The Italian prodigy has already scored 13 goals and provided three assists this season. However, what makes him unique in our list is his ridiculously low transfer value of 2.5. Due to his low transfer value, Belotti has tremendously high P/P ratio of 20.8. He is the must-have player for all fantasy football managers.

Napoli’s Jose Callejon is the next name in our list of top five Serie A strikers. The Spain international is quite far behind Belotti at 42 points. The former Real Madrid star has scored seven goals and provided seven assists in the first-half of the current season. However, he is available for just 5m in the transfer market and could prove to be a valuable addition to your squad. He has a decent P/P ratio of 8.8.

Juventus’s record-signing Gonzalo Higuain finds himself in the last spot on our list. The Argentinian is one of the costliest players in Italy at 11m and has collected 40 points. He has managed to score ten goals in 17 appearances this season. Due to his high value, Higuain has a pretty average P/P score of 4.
