Top Five Fantasy Football Midfielders – Serie A – Round 22

Serie A is back this Saturday, and almost all top clubs are expected to register easy wins this game week. Juventus will travel to Sassuolo while AS Roma will head to Sampdoria. Napoli will host second-from-bottom Palermo and Milan have a trip to Udinese to look forward to on Sunday.

Our midfield picks for Serie A this week bear a close resemblance to the picks of last week and Roma’s Mohamed Salah continues to miss out due to his participation in AFCON.

Let’s take a look at our midfield picks for Serie A game week 22:

1. Dries Mertens (Napoli)

The Belgian continues to lead our list with 60 points in his bag. This season, he has scored 12 goals and provided two assists in 19 appearances for the Naples club. It’s worth noting that he has started only 13 games out of his 19 appearances this season. He costs 8m in the market and has a P/P score of 7.4. Napoli host relegation-favourites Palermo on Sunday, and we are backing Mertens to keep his spot at the top of the list.

2. Marek Hamsik (Napoli)

Mertens is followed by his club captain Marek Hamsik in the list. The Slovakian has a significant deficit behind Mertens and currently occupy the second spot with 49 points. He is also a bit costlier at 9m in the transfer market. He has contributed with six goals and seven assists in 21 appearances this season. His P/P ratio reads a decent value of 5.9.

Mohammed Salah occupies the third spot in terms of points, but since the Egyptian is currently involved in AFCON, he doesn’t feature in the list.

3. Diego Perotti (AS Roma)

The Argentinean winger has been in superb form for Roma this season and is a really good option for any fantasy team at 5m. He has scored six goals and provided four assists in 17 league appearances. He has a very respectable point tally of 46 and has a very impressive P/P ratio of 9.6.

4. Suso (AC Milan)

The Spaniard is an even cheaper option than Perotti at 2.5m. At this price, he is arguably the most cost-efficient player on our list. He has scored five goals and provided six assists in 20 league appearances and has collected 45 points. He has an incredibly high P/P ratio of 18.8

5. Alejandro Gomez (Atlanta)

Atlanta have been a surprise package this season and currently sit sixth in the league table. Gomez has been a standout performer for Gerardo Martino’s side and has contributed in 10 goals (six goals, four assists) this season. He is available for a reasonable 5m and has a P/P ratio of 9.2.
