Serie A Injury and Suspensions Report – Round Seven

Atalanta: Hans Hateboer and Cristian Romero played against Liverpool but they are still hampered by thigh problems. Robin Gosens (calf) and Marten De Roon (thigh) are trying fast recoveries but they have slim chances to be available. Cristiano Piccini (thigh) and Mattia Caldara (knee) are out.

Benevento: Gianluca Caprari was handed a two-game ban following last week’s red card. Federico Barba is back, Iago Falque is notAlessandro Tuia will miss a month with a cheekbone fracture.

Bologna: two more players got hurt Nicola Sansone strained a hip muscle, Ibrahima Mbaye the flexor one in the right thigh and they are not certain to return right after the break. Gary Medel (calf) is the only one practicing among their other sidelined players, a list that includes Andreas Skov Olsen (back), Andrea Poli (fibula), Mitchell Dijks (toe) and Federico Santander (knee). Aaron Hickey is out with a last-minute issue. 

Cagliari: they should enjoy some returns as Gaston Pereiro could be at his coach’s disposal for the first time this season after a foot fracture, while Alessandro Tripaldelli and Luca Ceppitelli have shaken off the injuries that held them out recently. Zito Luvumbo (thigh) and Simone Pinna (knee) remain on the shelf.

Crotone: Dennis Dragus turned negative during the week but he has been out for a significant amount of time. Salvatore Molina has COVID, Emmanuel Riviere is nursing a thigh injury.

Fiorentina: Lucas Martinez Quarta was sent off in the previous game. Borja Valero headed back to practice after missing a month, but he stayed out of the squad list. German Pezzella is recovering from minor ankle surgery. José Callejon tested positive for COVID-19. 

Genoa: Eldor Shomurodov could be cleared from his thigh ailment, while Stefano Sturaro, Francesco Cassata and Davide Zappacosta will likely return after the break from their similar but more severe problems. Cristian Zapata tested positive for COVID on Saturday. 

Inter: Romelu Lukaku is questionable with a pulled adductor that cost him the last two matches. They will continue to handle Stefano Sensi cautiously due to his repeated thigh issues. Daniele Padelli tested positive for COVID-19. Aleksandar Kolarov and Andrea Ranocchia are questionable with last-minute issues. 

Juventus: Giorgio Chiellini returned midweek, but he is out again with a thigh issue. Aaron Ramsey picked up a low-grade rectus femoris strain and will be re-evaluated in ten days. Matthijs De Ligt is close to be cleared from his should surgery, while Alex Sandro (thigh) has yet to practice fully.

Lazio: Luis Alberto, Manuel Lazzari and Djavan Anderson are available after shaking off Coronavirus late in the week. Ciro Immobile, Lucas Leiva and Thomas Strakosha had inconclusive COVID tests on Friday and have been asked to isolate. Manuel Lazzari and Djavan Anderson are unofficially out with the virus, Gonzalo Escalante due to a thigh injury. Senad Lulic is improving after their serious problems, but he will be given two more weeks, Stefan Radu is instead back after missing a month with a calf strain. Dennis Vavro is out with his ever bothersome groin. 

Milan: Davide Calabria and Alexis Saelemaekers missed the midweek Europa League tilt with muscle fatigue, but there does not seem to be much concern about their statuses.

Napoli: Lorenzo Insigne returned against Rijeka and will be good to go for this round.

Parma: Andreas Cornelius suffered a biceps femoris MTJ tear and will look to recover during the break. The COVID outbreak has placated as Bruno Alves, Yordan Osorio, Jacopo Dezi, Matteo Scozzarella and Juan Brunetta have been allowed to return to the training center and most of them have been called up. Hans Nicolussi Caviglia is back after tonsillits, Vincent Laurini from a flexor pull. Valentin Mihaila instead underwent bilateral sports hernia surgery to solve a problem that has always kept him on the mend so far. Simone Colombi is recovering from a shoulder sprain, Maxime Busi from a significant thigh strain.

Roma: Carles Perez was sidelined by a small thigh problem in Europa League. Amadou Diawara and Riccardo Calafiori have not cleared the COVID protocol. Javier Pastore is expected to resume practicing during the break following off-season hip surgery. Davide Santon is out. Edin Dzeko tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday. 

Sampdoria: Balde Keita picked up a thigh strain, Manolo Gabbiadini continues rehabbing his mysterious abdominal injury.

Sassuolo: Francesco Caputo and Domenico Berardi are available after missing the past game with minor thigh problems, but they might be limited. Filip Djuricic has COVID, like Federico Ricci and Lukas Haraslin, while Jeremy Toljan shook it off but he is not ready for this one. Nicolas Schiappacasse is available for the first time this season. Vlad Chiriches is out with a flexor issue, Francesco Magnanelli has been called up but he can not play.

Spezia: Giulio Maggiore was poised to return from COVID, but he instead pick up a last-minute muscular injury, like Diego Farias. Nobody is coming back from their previously hurt players, so Federico Mattiello (calf), Gennaro Acampora (thigh) and Juan Ramos (quad) will stay on the mend. Daniele Verde suffered an adductor longus strain and is not a lock to return after the pause, same as Paolo Bartolomei who fractured the fifth toe in the left foot. Giuseppe Mastinu (foot), Andrej Galabinov (thigh) and Jacopo Sala (thigh) are not ready. Martin Erlic has Coronavirus.

Torino: Vincenzo Millico turned negative, while Armando Izzo has a bruised knee. Simone Zaza will remain on the shelf, like Daniele Baselli (knee).

Udinese: Sebastian Prodl, Walace and Mamadou Coulibaly were again excluded from the squad list. Rolando Mandragora has been making strides in his recovery from an ACL tear and could be available in two weeks.

Verona: Miguel Veloso (calf), Davide Faraoni (thigh), Andrea Favilli (thigh) are unlikely to return in this round but have decent chances for the following matchday, while Marco Benassi (calf), Kevin Ruegg (thigh) and Andrea Danzi (thigh) might need even more time. Ronaldo Vieira suffered a grade two biceps femoris MTJ stain and will miss six-to-eight weeks. Koray Gunter suffered a grade one thigh strain just after returning from a COVID-related absence.
