Serie A Player Status Updates – Round 32

Here are the latest updates on few players’ conditions heading into the next Serie A matchday.

Juventus:  Mattia De Sciglio was taken out of the Real Madrid match due to an apparent plantar fascia lesion that will require further testing. Federico Bernardeschi and Andrea Barzagli are working their way back from a knee sprain and an abdominal strain and practiced partially this week, but they will likely not be available this week.

Napoli: Mario Rui is suspended, no other absentees other than the usual one, Faouzi Ghoulam.

Lazio: Wallace missed another game due to tibial periostitis, while Patric is fatigued.

Roma:  Diego Perotti is at risk of missing the derby as well due to a calf pull. Rick Karsdorp is rehabbing an ACL tear. Gregoire Defrel has picked up an ankle injury. Kostas Manolas and Alessandro Florenzi are fatigued.

Inter:  Marcelo Brozovic is disqualified. Antonio Candreva is questionable due to an ankle sprain, while Matias Vecino is out again due to small hamstring injury. Joao Miranda is a little fatigued.

Milan: Leonardo Bonucci is suspended, while Alessio Romagnoli has suffered a hamstring (biceps femoris) strain and will miss at least three weeks. Andrea Conti will return next season.

Fiorentina: Cyril Thereau has solved a nagging hamstring injury, while the target date for Milan Badelj’s return from a knee (MCL) sprain remains up in the air. Simone Lo Faso is out for the season with a fibula fracture.

Atalanta: Josip Ilicic and Leonardo Spinazzola will remain sidelined due to knee sprains, while Luca Rizzo has a hamstring ailment. Andrea Petagna is suspended and the other striker Cornelius experienced some pain in his thigh. José-Luis Palomino has a sore knee and has not been called, while Mattia Caldara continues to be bugged by a bad back, but he is available. 

Sampdoria: Bartosz Bereszynski is suspended. Nicola Murru has suffered a knee (MCL) sprain and his season is likely over.

Torino: Walter Mazzarri could be down three wingers as Adem Ljajic stopped practicing on Thurdays due to a hamstring issue, Mbaye Niang is not fully back from some muscle fatigue and Alex Berenguer has a sore knee. The last two are not in the squad list, the Serbian attacker is. Backup goalie Vanja Milinkovic-Savic has suffered a hamstring strain, while Lyanco continues to deal with foot problems.

Genoa: Luca Rigoni is disqualified. Davide Biraschi will miss 20 days with a hamstring (adductor longus) strain, while Armando Izzo needs a couple of weeks to return from his calf one. Andrea Bertolacci has some muscle fatigue, but they could finally have Miguel Veloso back from a calf strain. Aleandro Rossi has also missed time, due to a thigh edema. El Yamiq is questionable due to a knock to the ankle. Mattia Perin is questionable, but he should be able to play.

Bologna: Mattia Destro is expected to return after missing one game due to a calf pull. Godfred Donsah sprained his knee and he will be out for a month. Vasilis Torosidis has suffered a hamstring (flexor) strain that will force him to skip three of four matches. Giancarlo Gonzalez is questionable due to a sore knee. Ladislav Krejci is out with some muscle fatigue. 

Udinese:  Seko Fofana is available after a hamstring strain, while Valon Behrami remains out due to a similar injury. Gabriele Angella is iffy with a calf pull.

Sassuolo:  Pol Lirola has suffered a meniscus tear and he will probably miss the rest of the season. Stefano Sensi and Edoardo Goldaniga are set to be out for the next couple of matches due to thigh injuries.

Chievo: Emanuele Giaccherini is suspended. Lucas Castro is expected to return after missing one due to the flu and a sore knee, same for Valter Birsa, who is not 100% though. 

Cagliari: Han is back after an ankle sprain and Luca Cigarini is expected to return to the starting XI after a foot fracture. Diego Farias is doubtful due to a calf problem, Alessandro Deiola because of a hamstring one. Daniele Dessena will miss time with a thigh (adductor) strain.

Spal: Federico Mattiello and Pasquale Schiattarella are trying to recover from ankle sprains, but they are unlikely to make it for the Fiorentina game. Alberto Grassi is doubtful with a knee injury whose details have not been specified yet. Drame and Marco Borriello will be again out with calf ailments. Jasmin Kurtic is out with a last-minute calf issue. 

Crotone: Marco Capuano is suspended. Andrea Barberis interrupted a practice due to a knock to the ankle, but he is fine. Andrea Nalini is recovering from a hamstring strain, Mariano Izco and Stefan Simic from smaller issues of the same nature. Ahmad Benali and Ante Budimir are out for the season with foot fractures.

Verona:  Ryder Matos should be available after an eye infection, while Simone Calvano is out with a hamstring (adductor) pull and Moise Kean with a tear in the same muscle. Deian Boldor is nursing a knee sprain. Daniele Verde and Marcel Buchel have been ruled out with late physical problems. 

Benevento: Vittorio Parigini and Andrea Costa have missed time with undisclosed injuries, Ledjan Memushaj due to an ankle sprain. Marco D’Alessandro is again questionable.
