Serie A Player Status Updates – Round 37

Here are the updates on the health of few players.

Juventus: Juan Cuadrado is suspended, while Stefano Sturaro and Mattia De Sciglio were in the squad list for the Coppa Italia final, so they have shaken off a foot and an Achilles injury. Giorgio Chiellini and Benedikt Howedes should remain out due to thigh injuries, but they have been called up. 

Napoli: Faouzi Ghoulam made a surprise return to the squad list last week after a lengthy recover for a pair of serious knee injuries. Vlad Chiriches and Adam Ounas have been ruled out late. 

Roma: Kostas Manolas is not expected to be available after being pulled last-minute against Cagliari. Diego Perotti has been dealing with an ankle sprain, he will be at most on the bench. Bruno Peres will be sidelined by a hip ailment, while Kevin Strootman is set to return from a ribs contusion. Gregoire Defrel and Rick Karsdorp remain on the shelf due to their long-term injuries.

Lazio: Luis Alberto suffered a hamstring strain and will try to play against Inter next week, but that would be a miraculous comeback. Ciro Immobile is out with a similar problem. Luiz Felipe is suspended. Stefan Radu should be back after being substituted at half time against Torino, while Marco Parolo is iffier. Jordan Lukaku is not ready yet.

Inter: Joao Miranda suffered a hamstring contracture in the warm-up prior to the Udinese game, but he is on track to recover. Roberto Gagliardini is questionable due to a hamstring strain that has kept him out for a couple of weeks.

Milan: Lucas Biglia was on the bench against Milan, but unused after the recent vertebrae fracture. Andrea Conti is rehabbing after the second knee procedure.

Atalanta: Leonardo Spinazzola (knee sprain) and Luca Rizzo are unlikely to feature in the final two games, while Andrea Petagna underwent surgery to fix an abdominal hernia that has been bugging him for months. The youngsters Filippo Melegoni and Alessandro Bastoni are hurt as well. Andreas Cornelius has some muscle fatigue. 

Fiorentina: Vitor Hugo will face a fitness test on Sunday to determine his availability.

Sampdoria: Duvan Zapata is progressing in his recovery from some muscle fatigue in his thigh, but he had a late setback last week. Fabio Quagliarella continues to be bothered by knee pain after a knock and he is out. Nicola Murru is out with a knee sprain, Ricky Alvarez should be good to go after an ankle one. Edgar Barreto has a small knee issue.

Torino: Joel Obi has missed time with a hamstring strain, while Kevin Bonifazi has some muscle fatigue. Alex Berenguer was held out last week due to a calf contusion. Lyanco underwent foot surgery.

Genoa: after being out for four months due to a couple of injuries, Armando Izzo should be available this week. Goran Pandev and Ervin Zukanovic are suspended. Diego Laxalt and Luca Rigoni missed the last game due to inflammed knees, Francesco Migliore because of sports hernia and Pedro Pereira with an ankle sprain: they are all out again. Mattia Perin will not play because of a hamstring injury, Daniele Bessa has been ruled out.

Sassuolo:  Federico Peluso is suspended, while Edoardo Goldaniga and Pol Lirola should stay on the shelf because of a thigh pull and a meniscus tear respectively. Cristiano Dell’Orco and Timo Letschert are both banged up but have a chance to be available.

Bologna: compared to last week’s depleted squad, they could have back Godfred Donsah from a knee and Erick Pulgar and Blerin Dzemaili from muscular issues, while Giancarlo Gonzalez and Riccardo Orsolini are expected to stay out. 

Spal: Francesco Vicari is disqualified. Federico Viviani and Federico Mattiello are questionable due to a calf and a hamstring issue: the midfielder is out. Manuel Lazzarri (knee sprain), Alex Meret (shoulder trauma) and Marco Borriello (calf edema) are likely done for the season, while Sauli Vaisanen is recovering from a hamstring pull.

Chievo: Ivan Radovanovic and Mattia Bani are suspended. Fabrizio Cacciatore was replaced last week due to muscular problems and he is on the wrong side of questionable.

Crotone: no issues other than the foot fractures of Ahmad Benali and Ante Budimir.

Udinese: Gabriele Angella is having a hard time coming back from a calf pull. Seko Fofana is disqualified.

Cagliari: the precautionary suspension of Joao Pedro has ended, so he will be at their disposal. Luca Cigarini is suspended. Filippo Romagna has solved a thigh problem, while Damir Ceter will not play in the final two games because of a hamstring strain. Leandro Castan suffered a foot injury.

Verona:  Bruno Petkovic is dealing with some muscle fatigue, while some tests on Moise Kean’s hamstring have deemed him not ready to return. Mattia Valoti is out with a hamstring strain, Mattia Zaccagni due to knee surgery, Matteo Bianchetti because of a hip problem. Marcel Buchel has a sore knee.

Benevento: Filip Djuricic is out with a calf strain, Guilherme with a MCL sprain, but they hope to have him back next week. Alin Tosca has recovered from a groin ailment, while Billong and Cristiano Lombardi will be sidelined by an undiscoled injury. Pietro Iemmello has been ruled out for the final two games because of the knee problem that has affected him at length this season. Ledjan Memushaj (ankle), Andrea Costa and Marco D’Alessandro (knee) have missed a lot time.
