That win means the Catalans retain their three point lead over local rivals Espanyol at the top of La Liga, while Vallecano are four points adrift from safety, sitting second bottom. navarroEstadi Montilivi was the place to be seen in La Liga this past weekend, with Girona losing at home against Eibar in a five-goal thriller. Brazilian forward Charles had given the visitors the lead from the penalty spot, before two goals from Cristhian Stuani late in the first half briefly turned the game in the hosts’ favour. Anaitz Arbilla levelled up deep into injury time, before a second half goal from Sergi Enrich allowed the guests to leapfrog Girona in the table, shooting up to 12th. Elsewhere, Alaves recorded a hugely impressive 1-0 home win over Real Madrid, while Barcelona were held at Valencia. Manu Garcia can help Toulouse surpass expectations this season

It can be utilised by smaller clubs who wish to bring in a potential star of the future to strengthen any leaks in their side, or bigger clubs can – on occasion – bring a player in who may otherwise be out of their reach on a temporary basis, treating fans to the spectacle of seeing such a big name wearing their own beloved shirt. It can help financially struggling sides add some depth, and also helps larger clubs get some experience for their younger talent before bleeding them gradually into their own first team. When used efficiently, the loan system quite literally offers a win-win for every single party involved. That certainly seems to be the case for Toulouse this season, who have loaned Man City starlet Manu Garcia for the 2018-19 campaign.
