The international break has been pretty rough this time around.

Juventus: Miralem Pjanic was stomped on with Bosnia, but he is fine. Andrea Barzagli had a calf problem in practice.

Napoli: Piotr Zielinski (ankle) and Dries Mertens (shoulder) suffered small injuries, but they are fine and could both start. Vlad Chiriches tore his ACL with Romania and will be out for five-to-six month. Faouzi Ghoulam was cleared to practice after a long rehab following a kneecap fracture and might be able to play in a month. Alex Meret is a couple of weeks away from a full recovery from an arm fracture. Continue reading

In the final matchday, it is better to fish from the teams who are still struggling for something as the others could implement some heavy rotations.

Gianluigi Buffon: we can make an exception for the legendary goalie, who will be making the final appearances with Juventus against the lowly Verona.

Dario Dainelli: the veteran centre-back has been a stabilizing force in the Chievo’s back-line down the stretch and will have his hands full going against Cheick Diabate.

Filippo Costa: Sampdoria have failed to score in three of their last four fixtures and have a poor road record. Costa has taken advantages of some injuries to assert himself as a valuable piece.  Continue reading

A pretty lopsided round is coming up, here are the recommended players to select.

Gianluigi Donnarumma: Milan do not possess the most trustworthy back-line, but the nose-diving Verona have failed to score in eight of their last ten away matches.

Alex Sandro: guessing Juventus’ lineup is always tricky, and they will play in the Coppa Italia final on Wednesday, but they have decent chances of racking up another clean sheet as they host Bologna, which has had trouble against top competition this year. Sandro has been the most productive from the fantasy standpoint.  Continue reading

Serie A Player Status Updates – Round 35

Here are the updates on few players’ conditions ahead of the upcoming round.

Juventus: Giorgio Chiellini suffered a hamstring (biceps femoris) strain just above the knee and will miss at least three weeks, with the risk of not returning this season. Mattia De Sciglio is out with a plantar fascia injury, Stefano Sturaro with a sore Achilles.

Napoli: no absentees other than the usual one Faouzi Ghoulam.

Roma: Diego Perotti and Kevin Strootman have already been ruled out due to an ankle sprain and a rib contusion. El Monito’s ailment is more severe since there is some ligament damage. Gregoire Defrel and Rick Karsdorp remain out following knee surgeries.  Continue reading

Serie A Player Status Updates – Round 34

Some of the most recognizable players risks being out in the upcoming round, here are the updates on everybody’s conditions.

Juventus: Miralem Pjanic is trying to recover for the big match against Napoli after skipping one due to a hamstring contracture and there are good chances he will be able to. Same for Mario Mandzukic, who was unavailable in Crotone due to gastroenteritis. Stefano Sturaro has a sore Achilles tendon, Mattia De Sciglio is out with a foot injury.

Napoli: no problems for the Partenopei, other than Faouzi Ghoulam who has been out for a while with a patella fracture.  Continue reading
